** Kramer also signs gibberish to Laura when they first meet--although his signs are correct, they're for random words--"know", "monkey", "dance"--and he isn't forming a clear sentence. She signs back "I don't know what you're saying", although later on, they can be seen in the background, apparently "conversing" easily.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Laura misreading Jerry's lips and thinking he said "sex" instead of "six" portends her misreading "sweep" as "sleep". Except. . . as cited above, she signed "sweep" correctly. The actually foreshadowing was when Kramer signed perfectly when explaining to Jerry and Elaine that he knows ASL--but also admitting that he hadn't used it in a while, hence him later misinterpreting what Laura signs.

* BilingualBonus: Viewers who know American Sign Language note that Laura correctly indicated that the two characters they were eavesdropping on said, "we'll sweep together" and it was ''Kramer'' (who wasn't as fluent in sign language as he claimed to be) that was at fault for the line being misinterpreted as "we'll sleep together", leading to disaster for George.

* CaughtOnTheJumbotron: George very sloppily a hot fudge sundae on the Jumbotron at the US Open, and the commentators mock him for not using a napkin.
* FunWithAcronyms: George is fond of these:
--> '''George''': She's a B.L.\\
'''Jerry''': (confused) A "B.L".??\\
'''George''': A "beautiful lineswoman".
* LampshadeHanging: George is worried that Gwen, his GirlOfTheWeek, might have broken up with him over seeing him eat messily on television. This leads to the following exchange:
--->'''Jerry:''' You really think she would be that superficial?
--->'''George:''' Why not? I would be.
* ObfuscatingDisability: Elaine fakes being deaf so that she doesn't have to make conversation with the driver of the car service. It doesn't work for very long. To quote Elaine: "He caught me hearing".
* PoseOfSilence: Parodied with George and Jerry hiding their mouths from Jerry's girlfriend, Laura, a deaf lip-reader, in order to talk about her while she is sitting at the same table. As it turned out, she knew exactly what they were saying anyway.
