* GracefulLoser: {{Double Subver|sion}}ted with Principal Prickly. He attempts to weasel his way out of defeat by beating T.J. on a technicality, but after T.J.'s ReasonYouSuckSpeech, Prickly does some [[WhatWouldXDo soul-searching]] and declares T.J. the winner. Even Finster counts on a minor note as she attends the movie premiere without any objections before learning that Lawson tried to play hooky.

TJ learns that Señor Fusion has his own movie now. Unfortunately, the movie is premiering at 11 am on Friday, a school day, and Lawson claims ''he's'' going to be the first in line. Therefore, TJ schemes to be the first in line, by persuading the entire school to let the student body go to the movie theater.

* BaitAndSwitch: After the WhamLine, it seems as if TJ is in a pickle. However, TJ goes on a glorious spiel of the background of the answer and even gives it...but Principal Prickly fails it because of the pronunciation.

* ClosetGeek: TJ realizes that Principal Prickly is himself a Señor Fusion fan.
* CombatPragmatism: Attempted by Prickly at the end of the 10-questions duel. When TJ gives the correct answer for all ten questions, Prickly fails him on account of mispronouncing "Femme Fatale."
