* AnimalStampede: Invoked by the dromaeosaurs, who provoke a stampede of hadrosaurs across a frozen river instead of attacking them directly, so they can scavenge on the ones who drown.

* ItCanThink: Downplayed, as its intelligence is still animal-like, but the segment still goes out of its way to showcase that troodontids are smarter than the average dinosaur. The one in the episode uses fire to flush out its prey.

* FantasticFaunaCounterpart: Both ''Pachyrhinosaurus'' and ''Nanuqsaurus'' have their behaviour taken from modern Arctic animals. The first is based on a musk-ox, being a big herd animal that fights for females by butting their head with the rival and their method of protecting their young by having the adults forming a protective circle while the young dinosaurs remain in the center is taken straight from the same method musk-oxes employ in the present. The ''Nanuqsaurus'' meanwhile evokes an Arctic wolf (the main predator of the musk-ox) by being a social hunter with a feathery coat resembling fur and emitting some howl-like sounds that are unmistakably wolf-like.
* TemperCeratops: The ''Pachyrhinosaurus'' can be aggressive and violent during the mating season and when they feel threatened, as one of the ''Nanuqsaurus'' finds the hard way.
* TerribleTrio: Three ''Nanuqsaurus'' appear as the main antagonists of the segment, stalking the ''Pachyrhinosaurus'' herd in the middle of a blizzard.
* TerrifyingTyrannosaur: The ''Nanuqsaurus'' are portrayed as pacient, efficient and social predators menacing the herd of ''Pachyrhinosaurus'' through the segment, in contrast to the ''T. rex'' and ''Tarbosaurus'' who were shown in a more chill light in previous episodes. The eventually succeed in taking down a bull ''Pachyrhinosaurus'' by the end of the episode.
