* ShaggyDogStory: Downplayed. Doofenshmirtz tries to find the repossessed family lawn gnome, and when Perry finds it online via a specialised gnome-searching database, they travel to Drusselstein and buy it from a Pawn Shop. He takes it to his father's house, only to trip and drop the gnome, making it shatter. However, the moment Doofenshmirtz leaves, his father notices the serial number and rebuilds the gnome to place outside the house.

* ParentalSubstitute: Carl apparently sees Monogram as this, as he gave him a tie for Father's Day. Monogram appreciates the gift, but has to remind Carl he is ''not'' his father.

* VocalEvolution: Doof's narration of the lawn gnome story is taken word-for-word from the original script of "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbLawnGnomeBeachPartyOfTerror Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror]]", although Dan Povenmire re-recorded it for this episode. When comparing the original line reading to the one here, there is less emphasis on Doof's Eastern European accent.
