Applejack shows up for substitute-lifeguard duty at the beach, only for Timber Spruce to tell her the day has been pretty slow so far. When a quick series of emergencies strikes, they start trying to one-up each other in how fast they can respond. The rivalry comes to a head when they both swim out to save Bulk Biceps from drowning and start pulling him in opposite directions. Bulk starts crying, distraught at seeing them fight, and they realize that they can put strength and knowledge together to form an effective lifesaving team.
