It’s not really realistic given the afflicted are animals, and thusly should have graver health effects on them than just getting fat.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: This episode notably portrays weight gain much more realistically than most cartoons. Usually, the characters would lose the weight immediately after deciding to do so with everything back to normal. Here, the episode ends with all the animals still extremely fat from their weight gain, and now trying weakly to work it off, just like a real person would have to put in the work to work off weight gain. The characters’ personalities also change, with everyone becoming more aggressive and gluttonous as time goes on as a consequence of their poor diet.
