This is revealed when the former sees the latter holding a DHARMA Cabernet bottle and correctly deduces that Hurley is his love rival. Hurley corrects him saying that he doesn't plan on making a move on Libby, he already has. They are going on a date, even.
* RedHerring: Neil "Frogurt" --a secondary character often mentioned by the producers as far back as the second season-- who was said to play an important role in the plot.
