He's vehement he's not a rapist, a paedophile or a cop killer after he's arrested. Lucia is his girlfriend not his victim, [[UnreliableNarrator according to him at least]]. Once it's revealed in the finale that she's only 15 he's forced to realise that the first two are now definitely true; but the detectives never discover if he knew he was sending his subordinate detective to her death.
