Hiroto's heroic deeds in stopping Gezerkia from invading Salabria eventually reaches Emperia but unfortunately, Panopticus the Prime Minister wants to dispose of him instead as he fears that Hiroto's rise of fame will further elevate the influence of Sobrinus the Archbishop. To make things even more complicated, not only Gezerkia is paying Solum a "visit" to see what is the town looks like before trying to attack it, Emperia receives demands from King Eash of Phyllis Kingdom who demands the northern neighboring kingdom to hand over the North Phyllis Remnants back to Phyllis.

* AssassinationAttempt: A North Phyllis assassin sneak into Phyllis's capital and disguise herself as masseuse to assassinate King Eash of Phyllis. Not only the assassination failed when Eash retaliates and kills her, the following incident only make the king so angry that he commands his 10,000 strong Phyllis Army to invade Salabria and wipe out the rebels for good.
** This isn't the first time either. According to Eash himself, he had survived at least ''10 assassination attempt'' from North Phyllis remnants the moment he became the king of the unified Phyllis Kingdom, which raises his paranoia so much that he tried to dispatch his troops to hunt down the remnants and even requests Hybride to arrest the remnants and bring them back to Hybirde. The problem is, though, most of his soldiers he dispatched failed their mission and and Hybride has been testing his patience by ignoring his request. ''For the fifth time''. The current, or rather ''eleventh'', assassination attempt is the straw that breaks the camel's back as Eash is done with Hybride's excuse and orders an invasion attempt onto Salabria.
** Speaking of North Phyllis Remnant, Galsh nearly get assassinated by one of Phyllian Knights who just saw him escape to Terminus River after they assassinated one of Gezerkia's subordinates. Luckily, he survives said assassination albeit minor injuries.
** Delegelis once proposes Panopticus to do this onto Hiroto when he views that the boy will be his lord's major threat to his lord. However, Panopticus rebuffs this for 2 reasons under circumstances: Initially, he wanted to keep him alive use him as a chess piece until he is no longer useful, so long the vampires situation is yet to be "solved". Then, the Phyllis's invasion attempt onto Salabria happens and Hiroto's heroic deeds in repelling Phyllis Army makes Panopticus warns Delegelis that killing the boy may ends up benefits Eash instead.

** 4 South Salabria Castle Lords have the audacity to assume that, with Hiroto gone, Excelis will implement a uniformed development decree as they wanted,. What makes them all four of them as hypocrites is that Hiroto ''has just saved Salabria from Gezerkia's invasion attempt just one month ago''. They also seem forget that development decree is one of vampires' ('''especially Gezerkia''') [[BerserkButton berserk button]] to begin with.
*** It goes UpToEleven when they harbored North Phyllis Remnants when the latter's former kingdom is annexed by Eash and merged with South Phyllis as an unified Phyllis Kingdom. However, their support for North Phyllis Remnant's plot to retake their former kingdom wasn't out of compassion or justice, but planning to get some benefits by ingratiating themselves with the North Phyllis remnants if their plot succeeds. Unfortunately for these 4 lords, the latest assassination attempt failed and even worse, Eash orders a massive army to invade Salabria by targeting South Salabria-''the very place North Phyllis current resided''.

** 4 South Salabria castle lords desperately seek Hiroto (via Excelis) for help in order to repel the invasive Phyllis Army despite they themselves antagonize the boy so much for implement the uniformed development decree that they wish him gone. Excelis chews them ''epically'' all for it.
*** Even better, all 4 of them were against Hiroto's implementation of quota for Other Species (Vampires, Mummy and Skeletons) regarding to their education at Primaria's schools due to them viewing other species ('''especially vampires''') as "monsters". The sweetest irony of all of this is that all 4 ends up depend the said "monsters. fend off the invading Phyllis Army

*** His aides Delegelis and Inferia are having a shades of these too: Delegelis tris to ruin Hiroto's career despite he himself having a phobia about the vampires, most specifically, he doesn't wanted to be killed by it. Inferia, on the other hand, willing to lie to the Red-Winged Vampire and exploit. Both just endangering Salabria (and Hybride by extension) in danger by.
** Phyllis soldiers and generals have the audacity to call the vampires as "monsters" for slaughtering their comrades during the Battle of Terminus while 2 Phyllian assassins that snuck into Orsia was responsible to the Phyllis Army's worst defeat by angering Gezerkia's union for killing one of the Red-Winged Vampires. Gezerkia even calls out the assassins for their hypocrisy by calling them as the real mosters before

Everything he does end up getting ridiculed by most of Hiroto's allies, especially the elves who ridicule him with scorn and disdain as they deem what Panopticus did to Hiroto was considered as balesmemy- for his jerkish treatment towards Hiroto and especially the vampires, as well as his constant reminder to everyone about his status as Emperia official to justify his said jerkish attitude, which only contributing his woes until the end of the book. Even worse, Emperia learns what he did at Salabria via Elven Elder Association's letter from both Secondaria and Primaria and he get punished for it.

*** Then, their decision to not funding Primaria interspecies education system as their middle finger to Hiroto for not implement the uniformed development decree as they requested, considering that the Other Species' population at South Salabria is lower than its northern counterpart, as well as their belittlement towards vampires and mummies and skeletons are "monsters". The sweetest irony about this is that these 4 Soth Salabria Castle Lords ends up calling the same monsters they belittle to crush the invading Phyllis Army.
** Kestel assumes that [[BullyingADragon impeach and dismiss Hiroto]] will break the human-vampire relationship as Paonopticus planned, only ends up witnessing the elves involvement in defending Hiroto and the vampires and they ''really'' did not take Emperia's terrible decision lightly.

* DislikesTheNewGuy: Kestel, an Emperian corriur who replaces Quintilis as Salabria's new Preliminary official, is ''heavily'' disliked by most of Hiroto's allies ''especially'' the vampires (Zeldis and his daughters, specifically Curele) and the elves (Alvy, Excelis, Magnelis and Artelis). The hatred against Kestel extends to even Primaria residents who all loathe his so much that for trying to harm Hiroto--the one who defeated and repelled the invading Phyllis Army--that they throw things at him and boot him out from town.

** Gezerkia's vassals and retainers expect that their leader's intrusion into Solum will give them some intel they need to crush Hiroto so they can avenge last defeat, only to be baffled by hear their leader's orders about not attacking Solum or Hiroto, as well as her subordinates account about Solum.
** Moldias, who is fed up by Eash's repeated request to arrest North Phyllis Remnants and take them back to Phylls, hopes that Panopiticus's letter to Phyllis about Hybride's defense of North Phyllis Remnants will shut him up. Too bad for the king, this ends up inviting trouble for Hybride as Eash see this as an opportunity to invade Hybride instead.
** Due to his belief that give in to Eash's demand will "embolden" Phyllis as the king will demand more from Hybride in th future, Panopticus wirtes a letter to Phyllis that North Phyllis remnants will not be arrested since anything they do at Hybride doesn't count as felony. This backfires terribly as Eash view this as Hybride's poor excuse instead and launch an invasion attempt onto Hybribe anyways.
** Kestel doesn't expect a '''massive''' backlash from Hiroto's allies--especially the elves--over his dismissal from his Governor position.
** Abrahim never expect the vampires to participate the war that he requests Eash to execute him as atonement for Phyllis Army's defeat, but Eash opts not to do so as he says that he has seen enough casualties in one day.
*** Technically, Abrahim's scheme does worked at first when the Phyllian Knights' assassination onto one Red-Winged Vampire and framing Hybrdian people did kept Emperia preoccupied with the Red-Winged Vampires' vengeful rampage at Orsia. That is until Hiroto comes to the picture and that along change the entire course ''drastically'' where he visited the Red-Winged Vampires not only dispelled the human-vampire misunderstanding, but invites them to join Salabria's battle to repel the invading Phyllis Army. That changed the entire course of battle ''drastically'' when Phyllis Army ends up getting [[CurbStompBattle beaten ''badly'' by the vampires]], and Gezerkia eventually exacts her revenge by executing her late subordinate's murderers.

** Gezerkia and her female subordinates are this when they visit Solum for the first time and witness its vibrant atmosphere due to interspecies' coexistence, especially when they witness a human resident offers his blood to a local vampire-something Gezerkia never heard of in her life. Her third meeting with Hiroto and hearing his words further adds her interest towards Hiroto and Solum, so much so that she orders her own men to not harm Solum or Hiroto as she declares that the town is an important town they cannot lose.
** Quintilis also experiences this during his tour at Solum by not only visiting the town, but also its outskirts such as the mummy caverns and especially Zeldis Clan's tent where he experienced heartwarming moments with the locals over there. This causes Quintilis to believe that the Ibrid System must be presrved in order to protect that kind of harmony, while lamenting Moldias's horrible decision to dismiss Hiroto from his governor poisition under the advice

** Moldias have this moment where, after hearing news about Hiroto and the vampires' victory over even the massive Phyllis Army's defeat by Hiroto and the vampires, he realize that he has wrongfully . To the point even stopping Panopticus from antagonizing the heroes.

** Hiroto is so shocked by Krestel's announcement about his dismissal that he is frozen for a while before collapses.
** Excelis has this reaction when she sees Zeldis forcing his daughters to leave Primaria, and she blames herself for it as she views her "promotion" has screwed not only Hiroto's career, but [[AllForNothing rendering his efforts in reconciliation between humans and vampires useless]]
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Moldias ''and'' other Privy Council members (barring Sobrinus) go along with Panopticus to dismiss Hiroto from his governor position after Panopticus lists all of the young boy's "crime"--something Sobrinus warns that will going to destroy not just th human-vampire relationship, but also Hybride as a whole. Quintilis lampshades this as his lamentation about king's wrong decision to

** Kestel has the audacity to [[KickTheDog antagonize Hiroto]] [[BullyingADragon and the vampires further]] while he himself doesn't even know how to solve Salabria's latest crisis. Soichiro mocks him for his hypocrisy.

For all his accusation against Hiroto for deeming diplomacy negotiation as a "violation" against royal decree from the last book, as well as claiming Curele as Hiroto's "military force" by just KOing Gezerkia and th Red-Winged Vampire, he almost screws Hybride for not only trying to ruin the ''only person who can reason with the vampires'', but sending a letter to an already angry Eash about how North Phyllis people don't do any crime at Hybride

* LaserGuidedKarma: The 2 Phyllian knights who assassinated one Red-Winged Vampire get shot by from Gezerkia's subordinate by the end of the Battle of Terminus, just like what they did to said Red-Winged Vampire.
* MaliciousSlander: Hiroto is subjected to this for his "violation" against Emperia's royal decree from the last book and he is not only forced to step down from his governor position, but also getting banned from holding any important position within a year, courtesy to Panopticus and his schemes. Later subverted as he eventually regain his governor position.

** Excelis has this reaction when Delegelis mentions Hiroto's soliloquy with Gezerkia when he meets her, which gives her a bad feeling about it. Unfortunately for her, she is vindicated when she see when she sees Zeldis forcing his daughters to leave Primaria

** Krestel is having this reaction when meeting Primaria citizens' backlash against him during the aftermath of Salarbia Army's upset victory over Phyllis Army, so much so that they throw things at him and .

** The Phyllis ambassador's announcement to Emperia about Eash's ultimatum to Moldias and the Privy Council causes the Hybrdian king to realizworst mistake to dblunder and follows Sobrinus's suggestion to grant amnesty to use Hiroto.
*** Speaking of Phyllis, by focusing ''only on Gezerkia's clan'' instead of Zeldis's clan, while not knowing about Hiroto being Salabria's former governor as well as his relationships with both vampires, Phyllis has technically screw their plot as Hiroto go to Gezerkia and help her to find the culprit and even convince her to join the battle against the invaders.

*** It only get worse when one of their comrades was murdered by an unknown assailant that leads to the Red-Winged Vampires' outrage, so much so that they condemn Zeldis's friendship with humans and blindly slaughter at least 10 people as revenge. Gezerkia could have seek Hiroto for help but she chooses to find the culprit herself because she doesn't want get a Diferente involved in her clan's affair, which only gives Panopticus a "legit" excuse to wipe them out. What's make their situation even more tragic is that until Hiroto arrives to Orsia and give his aid, tthe Red-Winged Vampires are all pawns to Phyllis's sinister ploy as a pincer attack onto Hybride, with Phyllis Army's invasion attempt onto Salarbia being the second.
** While Moldias's annoyance about by Eash's relentless request about the North Phyllis Remnant's arrest in understandable, his stubbornness and pride--especially when he scoffs at Sobrinus's idea of replying to Eash because he refuses to be his Phyllian counterpart's "errand boy"--ends up nearly ruining Hybride as Panopticus's letter about North Phyllis Remnants didn't do any crime at Hybride only rubs Eash the wrong way, ''especially the king himself barely escaped his 11th assassination attempt from the North Phyllis Remnants''. Consequently, this ends up prompting Eash to see the letter as Hybrid's latest excuse to not comply to his demand and launches an invasion attempt onto Salabria instead
* RevengeBeforeReason: The Red-Winged Vampires at it ''again'' when one of their comrades is killed an unknown assailant. To the point killing innocent people in Orsia despite said assailants, who is revealed to be 2 Phyllian Knights. Hiroto calls Gezerkia out for this but willing to help her because they are running out of time.

** When Manelis learns that even Emperia's own Elven Elder Chief was onboard with Panopticus's suggestion to dismiss Hiroto, he vows not to forgive the Prime Minister as he views what he did is both desecration of the law ''and'' a bla for trying to destroy the peace in Salabria Hiroto worked so hard to achieve.
** Zeldis refuses to forgives Panopticus for a) Hiroto's dismissal from his governor position that almost ruining the human-vampire relationship had it not for Hiroto's act and b) the death of one of Gezerkia's subordinate that resulting her latest rampage at Orsia, even though the guy himself is not even related to said incident.

** Emperia. With the exception of Sobrinus, King Moldias I and Privy Council members go along with Panopticus's suggestion to dismiss Hiroto from his governor seat and banning him from holding any important position for a year due to his "violation" of the royal decree despite said royal decree doesn't has any specific rules. It is is Eash's ultimatum to Emperia about its' invasion onto Salabria forces Moldias to change his mind to pardon Hiroto under Sobrinus's suggestion.
** 4 South Salabria castle lords complain about Hiroto in ''everything'', especially him not implementing the uniformed developing decree to the point refuse to pay for Primaria interspecies education as protest, they ignored the fact that he rescued Salabria from the Red-Winged Vampires just a month ago. The impending march from Phyllis Army's invasion force all four of them to get a reality check ''real quick''.
** Speaking of the Red-Winged Vampires, all but Gezerkia (and some sane vampires) calling Hiroto a "cheeky person" despite ''he'' was the one who prevented their annihilation from Emperia's Imperial Army before the ambassador even arrived to Orsia and Salabria. Not to mention that it was ''their''' last invasion attempt onto Salabria was the reason why Hiroto fighting back in the first place. Worst still, their encounter and interaction with Inferia about Hiroto's conversation with Gezerkia via soliloquy only give her some clues to "prove" Hiroto's crime for real.
** Even after Hiroto saved Salabria from Phyllis Army, Delegelis ''still'' suggests on assassinating the boy as he deems the boy is too dangerous to be alive, given the vampires' victory over Phyllis Army and his connection with the vampires that "proves" his military might. This also make the guy (and Inferia) a hypocrite whose mission that resulted Hiroto's downfall is what put Salabria in danger in the first place.
* TwistingTheWords: Panopticus twists Quintilis's report about Hiroto by saying that what the boy did from the last book were counted as "crimes" that violated the royal decree.

** Kestel assumes that [[BullyingADragon impeach and dismiss Hiroto]] will proves Emperia's authority is a good idea. Instead, all that did only get him-and Empria by extension--getting chewed by even the elves in Salabria instead since they ''really'' did not take Hiroto's dismissal lightly.

** Moldias, who is fed up by Eash's repeated request to arrest North Phyllis Remnants and take them back to Phylls, hopes that Panopiticus's letter to Phyllis about Hybride's defense of North Phyllis Remnants will shut him.

The thing is, however, Excelis's promotion as the new magistrate is under Emperia's decree instead of their votes; furthermore, Excelis herself declares that she will continue Hiroto's policies under her rule, much to the lords' greater dismay.

His jerkish treatment towards Hiroto and especially the vampires after the former was barred from partaking politics within a year, as well as his constant gloat about his "authority" as Emperia official to justify his said jerkish attitude only to be rendered useless whencer he get called out by elves, it's hard to root for the guy.
* CassandraTruth: Sobrinus the Archbishop warns King Moldius I that not only Panopticus's "investigation" onto Hiroto over a rumor about him "violating" the royal decree may have detrimental effect on the human-vampire relationship, he also warns the king that ignoring Eash's requests about arresting North Phyllis remnants too many will prompt the Phyllis to invade Hybride as retaliation. The king dismiss the archbishop's advice mostly out of pride, and this leads to Phyllian ambassador' message about his king's ultimatum makes the king and the rest of Privy Council to realize how ''right'' Sobrinus is.

** Speaking of whom, Marcel Lord's decision to take Galsh in while supporting his ploy to retake the North Phyllis leads to the aforementioned predicament.

** Krestel assumes that having Hiroto removed from his governor position should bring "order" back to Salabria. Unfortunately for him, not everyone is happy about Emperia's decision.
** Phyllis assume that they can punish Hybride courtesy to Abrahim's scheme by manipulating Gezerkia and her tribe to keep Emperia occupied from the the massive army's invasion attempt onto Salabria. What Phyllis doesn't expect is that Hiroto's involvement changes ''everything'' when he manages to dispel Gezerkia's misunderstanding about humans and even invite her clan to join Salabria Army to fend off.
