Professor mocks Felix's predicament by peeping at him through a hole in the crate, and is happy that his Fly-Making Machine is a success. Professor runs off to get a flyswatter to crush Felix. Felix wonders how he can escape, and notices a string conveniently hanging nearby. He climbs up it, and finds a laughing gas machine nearby. Professor arrives with the flyswatter, but realizes he's gone, just as Felix turns on the Laughing Gas machine. Professor starts laughing like crazy, but Felix unwittingly ends up getting affected by it as well.

Felix then sneaks up to Professor's ear, telling him to check and see if the Magic Bag is okay. Professor inspects the Magic Bags, but keeps getting beat up by all the fake ones. Professor manages to find the real one and carries it off. Felix sees a hole in the bag and hops inside of it. Professor opens the bag to see what's inside, only for Felix to pop out back to his normal size. Felix grabs his bag and runs for it as Professor gives chase. Felix then turns his bag into a helicopter and flies away. Exasperated, Professor turns on the laughing gas to calm himself down. While flying away, Felix remarks "Always leave 'em laughing!" and laughs as the cartoon irises out.

Felix buys a newspaper ad from a man nearby, and sees an ad asking for an intelligent boy to be hired as a companion to an elderly gentleman named Mr. Goodley. As Felix walks off to apply for the job, the newspaper salesman removes his disguise, revealing himself to be Professor up to his old tricks again. Professor hastily constructs a house ahead of Felix. Felix answers the doorbell, and goes inside, with Professor disguising himself as a wheelchair bound old man. Felix sets his Magic Bag down nearby, failing to notice a trapdoor opening, sending the bag falling into a lab below the house. The bag is then hit with a beam that causes multiple Magic Bags to spawn from it. Felix, in an attempt to apply for the job, tries to show Mr. Goodley his Magic Bag, but realizes it's gone. Just then, a robot emerges from the wall and pushes the old man into a door, which snaps shut before Felix can get inside. Felix looks around and discovers the trap door, and drops into the lab, discovering the multiple Magic Bags laying around. Felix tries to find out which one is the right bag, but to no avail. Felix moves on, and seemingly finds Mr. Goodley, only to find out its a dummy in his place. Just then, the robot from earlier emerges and grabs Felix, dragging him outside and throwing him out of the house. The robot then reveals itself to be Professor in yet another disguise, who believes that Felix won't be coming back for his bag of tricks. Meanwhile, Felix goes to a police officer for help, but when they arrive at the scene of the crime, the house is completely gone.
