** The first episode's Tale involves a computer system slowing down stock market transactions long enough to get certain buys in on stock the computer system knows will go up (or selling before the price drops). This one involves the same story, just upscaled to involve messing with the high-capacity data cable leading right into the London Stock Exchange itself but for ultimately the same purpose.

* {{Bookends}}: To [[Recap/HustleS1E1TheConIsOn The Con is On]]:
** Stacie asks Mickey why he never called after meeting in the hotel, a reference to a similar conversation when they meet again after Mickey gets the gang back together in the first episode.
** Ash repeats the "You can't kid a kidder" line said by Stacie when Mickey asks if he's easy to read when building the stock exchange machine.
** Danny was introduced as a struggling con artist who comes out of nowhere to save the gang when their con goes south.[[spoiler:A similar thing happens when Danny replaces the enforcer for Wasam and comes out of nowhere and shoots blanks at the crew to make them appear dead]].
** The Mark in the first episode is Peter Reginald Williams, a greedy businessman who is trying to make easy money on the stock exchange in London; the Mark for the crew in the finale is Madani Wasam, a foreign businessman who is also playing the stock markets, but has arrived in London for a short while.
** Mickey claims the investments he makes over the phone are zero-risk, a similar line to what he said to Peter Williams when boasting about his stock market gains.

* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: The show starts with Mickey and the gang being chased onto the roof of the hotel after the con goes wrong, and are shot down moments later by Wasam's enforcer, meaning the flashback that happens for setting up the events leading to the shootout means the audience knows the con will fail. [[spoiler:Which is exactly the plan. Mickey realises nobody comes after a dead crew, and throws some of the money onto the street to keep them distracted while the gang slips away]].

The crew go for one last mark; a Bahrain businessman named Madani Wasam who had recently inherited £850M from his father, who likes to play the stock market. He is a lethal mark, who goes nowhere without an enforcer if he doesn't get what he wants...

!!Tropes:
* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: Wasam gives Mickey three options; tell him how the data interception works, get killed, or go to prison.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: With goddamn sledgehammers:
** Mickey monologues to the audience about the word "Con" that used to simply mean "Confidence" before having different implications, and mentions that all industries have bad apples. Mickey then says that they can't do a con without exploiting the greed of their marks and their willingness for them to find shortcuts to make money.
** [[spoiler:Danny looks directly at the camera when he says "playing it for the audience"; his role was specifically to be TheFaceless enforcer the audience did not know the identity of until the end]].
** The final minute is [[spoiler:revealed to be on a TV set]].
* BullyHunter: Part of Mickey's reasoning is to take the Wasam down a peg, and invokes various bully behaviours to get him to call.
* CrazyPrepared: Wasam hires a team to watch over Mickey and Albert just in case they do a runner. This is what gets them caught in the end.
* HellBentForLeather: Wasams Enforcer wears leather gloves and a black leather duster coat.
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Madani Wasam is loathed by the board of his fathers company, everyone fears him, and he hires a hitman to make sure he gets what he wants. He leads through fear, and not respect.
* ProfessionalKiller: Wasam hires one wherever he goes to make sure anyone he does business with is intimidated enough to follow his orders.

** The London broker who is assisting Wasam? It's Stacey, who was already trying to con him. Sean and Emma are the first to meet her, and it's only when the old members of the crew (Mickey, Albert and Ash) get briefly shocked to see her again.
** [[spoiler:A lot of ChekhovGun moments that are seemingly unrelated get fired off in less than 5 minutes before the end. The measurements for Sean and Mickey at the start were to work out how big the blood bags had to be when Danny fires blanks at the crew, and the swimsuit also served the same purpose. The note with the number for Wasam's enforcer was swapped by Stacie to be for Danny. The reason The enforcer is shot in shadows is to keep the reveal of Danny as the enforcer a secret.]]
* YouHaveNoIdeaWhoYoureDealingWith:
** Wasam tells this to Mickey's face to try and pass his "waiting list" for playing the stocks.
** Ash, Stacie, and Albert all ask Mickey if Wasam is worth taking down, if it means possibly getting killed.
