Despite being punched and threatened at knifepoint, he pretends not to recognise Monroe, or to remember anything about his friendship with Nick, and generally does his usual nervous rambling, buying time for the BigDamnHeroes to arrive. Despite refusing to testify against Monroe, when asked if ''he'' has ever helped Nick, Bud proudly says he has, and only wishes he could help him now, "because boy, he would have a field day with this!"
* DefiantCaptive: Monroe continues to be a SnarkKnight during his "trial." He also makes another escape attempt, killing a Wessenrein when he's recaptured.

* ISurrenderSuckers: One of the Wessenrein feigns surrender to Wu. When Wu lets his guard down, the cultist tries to attack, but Wu is faster on the draw with his shotgun.

* NoSell: A Wessenrein woges in front of Wu to try and catch him off guard. Nick and Hank prepared him well, and he blasts him away without blinking.

* NothingIsScarier: Whatever Renard does to one of the Wessenrein. All that is heard is a bunch of [[SickeningCrunch crunching]] and Hank cocking his head at the sight.
