* BrokenAesop: The other Junior Woodchucks turn against Doofus when he becomes a SmugSuper for making fun of them while he's doing better than they are. But earlier, before Doofus gained his powers, they were all making fun of Doofus for not doing as well as them, making the Junior Woodchucks a bunch of {{hypocrite}}s. The episode is trying for a "two wrongs don't make a right" Aesop, but it's undermined by the others never realizing that their own behavior towards Doofus drove him into responding in kind.

Everyone is happy to have the old Doofus back, including Doofus himself.

* JerkassHasAPoint: During their second scene, the lead alien makes what seems like a rather cruel comment about how he alone will wield the power of the crystal, in response to his sidekick asking if they can share it. The sidekick in question subsequently proceeds to hold a bazooka backwards while firing it, and then sets a bomb to blow up a dam while the two aliens are still stood on it, make it clear that he really ''isn't'' someone who should be trusted with that kind of cosmic power.
* KidsAreCruel: Even Huey, Dewey, and Louie aren't above making snide comments about Doofus' slowness or weight, and the other Junior Woodchucks barely wait any time in the episode before doing so.

* OhCrap: The lead alien has this reaction when his sidekick reveals that he set the bomb they attached to the dam to detonate in "ten flarns". It's not clear exactly how long a flarn is, but it's short enough that the bomb explodes while they're still stood on the dam.
* PaperThinDisguise: Huey, Dewey, and Louie see through Doofus' disguise as Superdoo almost immediately, with it being implied that the only reason they don't immediately call him out is so that they can catch him in the act and make sure there's no way he can deny it.

* TooQualifiedToApply: After throwing away the rock, Doofus returns to camp to find Launchpad. He tells him that he wants to give back his recent merit badges, because his earning them had more to do with the rock than his own abilities. Launchpad praises him for his honesty and tells him he's proud.
