** While in the aforementioned lab, Hiro and Fred attempt to hide from Professor Granville by disguising Baymax as a chair. Unlike most cartoon examples, Granville isn't fooled for a second.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: The "Jerk" part is stretching it a little, but Granville demonstrates a "tough, but fair" persona about her. The times she does get snippy are the moments where Hiro is breaking the rules. Otherwise, she is patient and sympathetic, and not above giving praise. Just don't try hugging her...

** Everyone aside from Fred is very reluctant to continue with crime-fighting, since Callaghan is in prison and Tadashi was avenged. The first time that they ''do'' go patrolling, they find no crime to deal with and only managed to catch a speeding car transporting a pregnant woman.

Honey Lemon also mentions that Hiro almost got killed in the process, terrified of losing another friend. * ContinuityNod: So many. When Gogo tells Fred that "night patrol" is not a thing, Honey Lemon agrees by saying "It's really not.", just as she'd said to Fred when he told them that "Mi casa" was French for "front door." We also see Honey Lemon demonstrate a practical application for her chemical metal embrittlement.
**There is also a recreation of the scene where Hiro and the group leave the cafe for his first day at SFIT, as well as Hiro putting Baymax's armored fist on display and finding the healthcare chip.
** Yama reminds "Zero" of the night that their bot-fighting got him thrown in jail.

* AnswerCut: Gogo tells Fred that there are no supervillains in San Fransokyo. Cut to Yama doing a HighAltitudeInterrogation on some poor sap.
* BreakingTheFellowship: Played with. Although the team is still together, Fred is the only one willing to continue fighting crime, the others no longer considering it necessary.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: After the speeding car incident, Gogo says that there's nothing interesting happening in the city, just as the malfunctioning Baymax body runs behind them.
* HighAltitudeInterrogation: Yama is introduced having his mooks holding a victim over the edge of a high-rise. Later, he has them do the same to Hiro.
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: Again, as noted under BreakingTheFellowship, the band is technically still together, it just needs to be convinced into becoming a superhero team again.

* RealityEnsues: Rebuilding Baymax was not easy. Tadashi had to run diagnostics beforehand, but Hiro dismisses the need, only to be proven wrong moments later when Baymax's body goes haywire. Even a kid as smart as Hiro has limits.
** Everyone aside from Fred is very reluctant to continue with crime-fighting, since Callaghan is in prison and Tadashi was avenged. The first time that they ''do'' go patrolling, they find no crime to deal with and only managed to catch a speeding car transporting a pregnant woman.
** Tadashi's lab is off-limits, initially, to Hiro, since private labs belong to upperclassmen who earned the privilege.
** Unlike most [[SadistTeacher teachers]] depicted in cartoons, Professor Granville is stern, but [[ReasonableAuthorityFigure fair.]] She doesn't antagonize Hiro and is very civil with him, determined that he live up to his potential. She wouldn't have been chosen as Dean of the college if she was a major Jerkass to the students who keep the college running, after all.

The pilot of Big Hero 6 the Series.

Hiro arrives at school for his first day, and quickly finds himself maybe a bit over his head. The memory of Tadashi is still fresh in everyone's mind - in fact his lab hasn't even been cleaned yet - and his classes are filled with older students. Add in Fred trying to become a true super hero team, the dean being unwilling to let Hiro remake Baymax, remaking Baymax anyway and Baymax glitching out, and his classes Hiro has his plate full.

And then Hiro runs into Yama again. Who has the perfect way for Hiro to repay him for going to jail. Steal a paperweight from the Dean's desk. What can go wrong?
