They start mining quartz, but they accidentally hit a Zombie Pigman, causing everyone of them to attack them. They run until they reach a Nether Fortress, were they get chased by Blazes and Wither Skeletons and then encounter a cliff. Then, a Ghast tries to attack them, but they were able to get on his back using their fishing rods and start controlling the Ghast to attack the other enemies and then kill it.
