Andi and Celia continue to plan Bex's wedding. Andi gloats that Bex has preferred her ideas so far, and Celia tells her to cut it out. They continue discussion and find themselves agreeing, until Andi reveals that she had been planning on making the centerpieces. Celia disagrees, and would prefer orchids.

Cyrus welcomes Andi, Buffy and Jonah to his house where his family is sitting shiva for his grandmother. He explains the tradition and customs to his friends. Bowie then arrives and speaks to Cyrus's mother. He has brought a kugel; Cyrus's mother is visibly displeased and sends him to entertain other guests.

Andi and Buffy are sitting with another group of guests when Buffy's phone goes off. She takes it outside, and Andi follows. Andi asks who's texting her, and Buffy refuses to tell her.

Cyrus shows Jonah pictures of his grandmother, and is approached by his rabbi. He's putting together a minyan and invites Cyrus to join. Cyrus excitedly accepts, and the rabbi invites Jonah to join them as well.

Andi speaks to Cyrus's Aunt Ruthie, who asks if Andi is Cyrus's girlfriend. When Andi says no, his aunt wonders why Cyrus doesn't have a girlfriend, making Andi uncomfortable. She changes the subject by introducing Bowie to Ruthie. They discuss Bowie's kugel, which displeases Ruthie and causes her to storm off.

Outside, Cyrus speaks to Andi and Buffy about his grandmother. He laments that he wishes he had come out to her, but was too scared. Andi and Buffy remind him that it's his choice who he comes out to and when. Cyrus decides he's ready to tell Jonah and goes looking for him. Buffy receives another text message and still refuses to tell Andi who it is.

Cyrus looks for Jonah, and finds him having another panic attack in an empty room. He talks him through it until he's calmer.

Over at Cloud 10, Celia and Bex discuss centerpieces. Bex likes the idea of orchids, but loves the idea of Andi's homemade centerpieces, to Celia's disappointment.

After he helping Jonah calm down, Cyrus comforts him and decides that this isn't a good time to come out.

Bowie apologises for his kugel mistake. He tries to apologise, and tells Ruthie and Cyrus's other relatives that it was store bought. She doesn't forgive him, and he leaves the shiva as Bex and Celia arrive.

The kids all go to get food, and Andi asks Cyrus how things went. He tells her he decided it was the wrong time, and Andi and Buffy reassure him that that's okay. Jonah asks for Cyrus's help with identifying the different food, and Cyrus finishes the list by telling Jonah that he's gay. Jonah doesn't mind at all.

Cyrus tells more stories about his grandmother. Andi expresses sadness over her argument with Celia and Cyrus reminds her that at least Celia is alive. Andi and Celia tell each other they're fine with each others ideas. Celia tells Andi that Bex preferred her idea, which excites her until she's reminded of where she is, and goes to hug Celia instead.

Andi, Buffy and Cyrus discuss Cyrus's former crush on Jonah. Cyrus says he never wants to tell Jonah about it. Andi is surprised to see TJ arrive. Cyrus is also somewhat surprised that he came, and TJ gently assures him that of course he did. The two exchange smiles and TJ shows Cyrus the challah bread he brought. Buffy receives yet another text, and she reveals that it's Marty.

-->'''Cyrus''': You know the story behind every major Jewish holiday. Tried to kill us, we survived, let's eat!

* WhamShot: TJ's arrival at the end (and the looks exchanged between him and Cyrus, for anyone who ''still'' hadn't picked up on the subtext).
