-> He is, in fact Ragna follows the archetype to a fault at times. While the anti-hero has become very broad in recent years, the basic outline of an anti-hero is a character who is rejected by and/or subsequently openly fights against society, specifically the set principals and authority that rule them. What follows is a long, but necessary explanation to get the point across. Just...try to bare with it.
-> The anti-hero usually begins as a social outcast amidst the servile, brainwashed, general populous. Struggling to conform, all the while beginning to object, one is either ridiculed into leaving, forcefully cast out, or has personal reasons for doing so. One may possibly find fellow outsiders, subsequently make allies and that is how the story of an anti-heroes usually begins.
-> Ideally, one who stands against an oppressive government should be physically strong and inspire those around them to join him/her but unlike the hero, the anti-hero isn't ideal. An anti-hero typically doesn't have a set of principals. They are quicker to violence, often selfish, and have respectable, yet underdeveloped traits. The anti-hero is out for ones' own personal ends, and will stop at nothing to reach them.
-> It is the purpose of the anti-hero to fight against, and thus reveal the hypocrisy of humanity. The falsehoods and tactics used to oppress the people are null and void before an anti-hero as one fights against the corrupt authority that charms many with the illusion that the dangers of humanity are well under control.
-> Since anti-heroes lack moral principals, they can make choices a hero cannot. If the situation demanded, they could murder children because they abandoned their morality long ago. While in many ways, this does make the anti-hero more versatile and practical, it also makes the anti-hero very unpredictable and difficult to control. In other words, they're very dangerous, which is usually the reason why they were shunned, feared, and subsequently exiled to begin with.
