* A very unusual example is featured in the protagonist, Amaike Leo, of the manga ''Jobless Monster Player''. After he goes back in time ten years to his late teens, he finds out that he has to care for the huge {{Womanchild}} monster named Suzuko who devoured him before he went back in time, who keeps addressing him as her father. Even though he is weirded out at first he slowly but steadily grows into this trope. It is especially accellerated when he discovers that Suzuko was a girl created by a {{Chuunibyou}} scientist whom she addressed as her father, who manipulated her into ''[[AnArmAndALeg cutting off her own body]]'' to feed the monsters he was creating. After some time, he deemed [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness that she was no longer needed]] and left her to become monster food. This freaks Leo out so much (partially because during this, he feels Suzuko's pain) that he immediately deems that he is her real father and continues to beat out the crap of the 'father' figure in her memories.
-->"I'm Suzuko's father. Suzuko saved me."

* Napolean from ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'' is an interesting case. He ''wants'' to be his son Martin's protector, but he can't; as a teacher at Duel Academy, showing favoritism towards a student is a professional taboo, so he's forced to isolate himself from Martin (one of the hardest things he ever did, as he put it). Mess with his students though, and you will learn just what his philosophy of "Plus Ultra" means in the most painful way possible. Let's not forget Aizawa, who fights an entire league of villains who break into the UA to protect his students.

*** In ''Anime/DragonBallSuperSuperHero'', Gohan fully displays his Papa Wolf credentials towards Pan, thanks to some [[AllAccordingToPlan scheming]] from TheChessmaster Piccolo. The new Red Ribbon Army wants to destroy the Z-Fighters, so in a TooDumbToLive move they decide to lure Gohan by kidnapping Pan, his three year old daughter. This is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMIHj4tW6aU gloriously proven true]], as when a mook shows Gohan footage of Pan being held captive, '''''he flips his fucking lid''''', making his entire house ''collapse'' by going Super Saiyan in sheer fury and goes on a PersonOfMassDestruction UnstoppableRage against the Red Ribbon Army and beats the absolute crap out of Gamma 1 who unfortunately stood in his way.
