* Oryx the Mad God is the TopGod of his own dimension, and is a callous and malevolent god who serves only himself and his minions by serving them humans. The humans of the realm have obviously taken up arms against him, but Oryx chooses not to interfere in his realm's affairs himself, instead sending his minions to subdue the realm's heroes. When those eventually fall, Oryx loses his patience and whisks them away to his castle, where the heroes must fight their way to his chamber to get a chance to defeat Oryx himself. From there, players must use artifacts looted from Oryx's minions to break their way into his Wine Cellar, and then his Sanctuary, as he unveils and unleashes more of his power each time, to the point that he becomes the greatest challenge the heroes could ever face.
* Oryx teleported many of the Pantheon's heroes to his castle after one of the major battles they triumphed in, openly challenging them to combat. However, they fought through wave after wave of minions, and after finally catching sight of Oryx, they won the day. However, it was found that Oryx had made a simulacrum of himself (as he is prone to doing to confront the heroes of his own realm), and he had made himself at home in the Pantheon while his simulacrum did the dirty work. By the time they learned of this, Oryx found himself allies that would have Oryx ascend under ThePawnsGoFirst given his preference in having his minions fight his enemies to the death first. Surely enough, portals into his realms would manifest in the Pantheon in the area that would be considered Oryx's temple, although his real temple, aka [[TheVeryDefinitelyFinalDungeon his Sanctuary]] requires taking down highly powerful minions of his, and thankfully they do occasionally come out of Oryx's portals into the Pantheon.
* Oryx, eager to rebuild a new legion of minions and allies within the Pantheon, made a tempting bargain for allegiance, namely that they can cheat death if one of Oryx's enemies kills them. It may seem unnecessary given that one cannot truly die while in the Pantheon, but surprisingly, he managed to influence the workings of death itself to ensure {{Permadeath}} to enemies in his realm, and likewise, highly effective ResurrectiveImmortality to those who kill said enemies. Such perversions of death and life have even crept in to the Pantheon, and should those mutually allied with Oryx be slain, Oryx can have them resurrected within his realm in an efficient manner compared to a trip to the House of Pantheon/DeathAndPostmortem and then the House of Pantheon/LifeAndVitality. Fortunately, the permanent death clause ''doesn't'' apply to the Pantheon, but only within his realms accessed by their respective portals. Should they get caught in one of said realms and killed there, their souls and essence don't get to go anywhere unless Oryx decides to. This used to be a big problem with plenty of battle-seeking deities losing their lives while fighting against Oryx's minions in his realm, or if they're lucky, against Oryx himself. But plenty of the Overdeities in the Pantheon, [[AwakeningTheSleepingGiant even the more passive ones]], were '''not''' having any of it. [[CurbStompBattle Directly attacking the true Oryx himself and mercilessly subduing him,]] Oryx had no choice but to alleviate the permanent-death aspect, so heroes killed in Oryx's realms will eventually be taken to the Pantheon to be properly resurrected.
* Unsurprisingly, deities who manage life or death loathe Oryx for how he corrupts the nature of death and rebirth for his own selfish ends. All of the grim reapers in the Pantheon have nothing nice to say about Oryx the Mad God, and some of them get rather smug every time Oryx is killed in battle in the Pantheon. Death of the Endless's distaste for Oryx's actions aren't as vocal given the inevitability of death for Oryx and his minions anyways, but on the other hand, The Wolf, another form of Death who despises those who waste their lives and don't take death seriously, personally hates Oryx for making his forces be able to die and die again with little fear of permanent death, in contrast to his enemies, and is more than willing to go after Oryx if he's vulnerable. Even more intriguing is Dhuum and Grenth, who are mutual enemies due to their different perspectives on how death and revival should work, but the two can agree that Oryx's influence on permadeath is absolutely disgusting, with their hatred of Oryx the Mad God being able to set aside their differences temporarily when it comes to the subject of delivering retribution to Oryx.
* Medusa and the Sphinx, both with counterparts under Oryx's employ, have chosen to ally themselves with him. Zanza has no such counterpart, but [[spoiler:finding himself unwilling to stomach his own death]] and seeing life with similar contempt to Oryx, has also organized an alliance with him, even if only for Zanza's selfish reasons. Seeing them as similar to his top generals from his homeland, Oryx has struck alliances with Fortinbras, Demitri Maximoff, and Dracula, who also recommended the Crimson Court as allies. Some of said alliances were troublesome due to their own ambitions, so he did have to sacrifice a portion of his wine cellar to them in order to gain their support. That said, Oryx's reliance on and trust in a vampire lord from his realm has helped make these alliances go smoothly. His attempts to get the Von Carstein vampire lords on his side went poorly however, Vlad sees too much into his recklessness and ambition to really trust him, Konrad couldn't stand Oryx's ego (even though he holds plenty of it on his own) and Mannfred eventually attempted to backstab Oryx at a wine cellar party and actually got to the point where he retreated to his sanctuary, and considers all three as rivals. Additionally, with one of his mutual allies in his realm being the malicious Shaitan, Oryx decided he couldn't go wrong with getting some more djinns on his side. Jafar and Erazor Djinn would answer to Oryx's call and offers for power, viewing their goals as permissible and insignificant to Oryx's reign. He is somewhat interested in Erazor Djinn's goals of rewriting stories to be able to rule them. On occasion, Oryx will pester Erazor Djinn about at the very least mentioning Oryx in said rewritten stories in an almost sycophantically positve manner. While glad that Oryx doesn't plan to completely intrude on his goals, he does silently scoff at Oryx's insatiable ego.
* While Melkor respected Oryx for his villainous ambition and success in bending many dimensions to his will, he was bitterly disappointed that the Mad God didn't want anything to do with the GUAE. Oryx's disdain toward Melkor stems from how Melkor reminds Oryx of a dreaded enemy from his universe, the Void Entity, an OmnicidalManiac made of the evil in humanity's hearts, so Oryx is very territorial with cooperating with the GUAE, not wanting deities MadeOfEvil to intrude on his domain. Additionally, Oryx only saw his tyranny and dominion as a means to an end for being acknowledged as an invincible and almighty god, with whatever going on at the bottom mattering little unless it threatened his power. Oryx has also gotten into territorial disputes with the infamous God-King of the Hive (also named Oryx) and Sauron (who maintains a similar level of authority over his minions and realm)- while they don't have any particular reason to oppose each other, they find themselves unwilling to get along because they get in each other's way. Sauron's particular rivalry with Oryx comes from the latter managing to dominate his realms through twisting the divine powers in his favor, in contrast to Sauron's reliance on the darker forces in an attempt to dominate his own realm.
** The Fraternity, while aligned with the GUAE, decided they wanted to have a share of a few of Oryx's realms for themselves, in case terrible circumstances threatened the stability of their influence. Promising Oryx the heads of mortals and other fools who dared to oppose Oryx, the Fraternity slyly convinced Oryx that they were worth keeping around. While their practices and offerings would keep Oryx's good graces for the Fraternity to prosper from Oryx's boons, Oryx has also kept a close eye on them in case they intend to backstab him or give outside forces an unwarranted hold on Oryx's domain.
* As a mortal champion of a former kingdom known today as The Shatters due to its ruination, what made him beloved as a former hero was his ruthless ambition, though it was the exact same thing that drove him to betray his people and usurp the very system that brought him to power. The presence of other such ambitious usurpers and betrayers in the Pantheon hasn't pleased him though, given that his callous pride prevents him from making genuine allies, and views them as competition to look down on. Malekith also had ambitions with being the Phoenix King to a similar extent, and he covets power and influence similar to Oryx's for the purpose of doing so. Megatron, a being from Cybertron who also had a gladiator-like past only to rise up against Cybertron's leaders and become the leader of a powerful Decepticon force in his own right, may also look down on humans but it doesn't make working with Oryx worth the trouble, and sees no reason to get in his way if he can help it.
* His Exalted form, which is the result of twisting holier forces toward his own ends, makes him one of the most reviled representatives of light, and especially hated by holy deities and those take offense of the idea of divinity being corrupted and abused for selfish ends. YHVH, a tyrannical god who commands the forces of Law, took Oryx's presence with much enmity given the amount of control Oryx wants to hold over gods. Zamasu found Oryx's existence in itself as a great insult to all of godkind, for being a mortal wielding divine power and exclaiming themselves to be above gods themselves, and unsurprisingly is one of Oryx's most determined opponents, for Zamasu despises the idea of mortal superiority he represents. Hearing about his influence over millions of other realms only fueled his anger even more, seeing such a feat in itself as a boast of influence.
* Oryx is one of the most powerful alcoholics in the Pantheon, having his own wine cellar that heroes attempt to raid every now and then, knowing very well that Oryx will very much be there to repel them murderously. While typically not the type to share, he got along with fellow drunk Kaido, a mighty Pirate Emperor who could drink gallons and gallons of sake and the like with ease. Since their particular tastes in alcohol are different they don't worry about having to share alcohol. Given what happened with Dreadstump who was taking from Oryx' alcohol tax (yes, Oryx taxes subjects in alcohol), he's not particularly going to let Kaido handle Oryx's supply himself though. Sometimes, Oryx leaves to visit the Hall of Alcohol just to get his alcohol fixation satiated. Due to how entitled he is, he always expects its members and all other bartenders to give it all to him on the house, and they're unable to directly deny it to him due to his immeasurable strength. At least the Pantheon is willing to compensate them for Oryx's visits, on top of chasing him out when he gets too unruly.
* Oryx, though having begun his career as a mere mortal champion, has the gall to boast himself as above gods, and has the power and influence to back it up, with his realms being inhabited with gods allied with Oryx to kill heroes. Oryx often finds himself butting heads with Geb and Nut, both of whom are knowledgeable of their counterparts in Oryx's realm, and have opposed Oryx due to the Mad God's malevolence and the two gods' willingness to bless humanity, as well as a majority of the Egyptian pantheon for Oryx's influence over gods. Of course, Oryx didn't stop at gods. He attempted to employ Dr. Terrible to create scientific advances that would bolster his forces further, creating all sorts of abominations, and Oryx himself attempted to create his own elemental dragons with captured sprites to control magic for his own ends better, though the dragons ended up going rogue. Nevertheless, Bahamut and many other draconic beings are not pleased with Oryx's attempts and intend to ensure that he doesn't try to meddle with life even more than he already does.
* Those who RageAgainstTheHeavens will quickly find a justified target in Oryx, whose selfish desires to maintain power are more than enough to warrant his downfall. Even as an exalted mortal, his evil godly reign has made Kratos a deadly nemesis for Oryx. Egil, embittered by millennia of suffering with the influence of a deity as selfish as Oryx, is among the people most prepared and eager to fight the Mad God, along with Shulk and all his friends who have had enough of being played around by malevolent gods and has turned the Monado against Oryx. Ike, having slain [[Pantheon/OrderAndChaos a divine being]] before, would deem himself fit to oppose Oryx and his minions, and also notes his armor's similiarities to [[Pantheon/VillainousArchetypes a certain war general]] who orphaned him, at least until he has to deal with his Exalted Form.
* Oryx doesn't take kindly to oblivion-related deities, and has joined the fight against Apophis with zeal. Lord English's desire for wanton destruction and oblivion of reality has also earned the Mad God's ire, acknowledging the threat he poses to the many dimensions that he controls, not to mention to the mad god himself. [[spoiler: Due to the oblivion-related deity of his universe, the Void Entity having a strong association with emptiness and the void]], he also has a hatred of void-powered deities. Zeratul makes this hatred mutual due to his benevolence, but Exdeath is the closest thing to [[spoiler:the Void Entity]] in the pantheon, so Oryx's enmity with him was inevitable. The likes of Chaos and Amatsu-Mikaboshi only increase his paranoia toward the forces of destruction, and allied himself with Lord Vyce for their mutual opposition towards such forces even though they'd otherwise be rivals.
* For some outrageous reason that has yet to be understood, let alone explained, Oryx is deathly afraid of chickens, and even assumes that others fear them to a similar extent. During one of Oryx's assaults on the House of Gaming, he accidentally blasted a Cucco into oblivion with his powers while battling Link, causing a horde of them to flock towards them, ignorant of his staggering might. The sight of the Cuccos had caused Oryx to turn pale (not that anyone could see it, unfortunately) and ran away as if [[Pantheon/RuinAndDestruction The Nothing]] was right behind him, along with Link who also knew that fighting the Cuccos would be a losing battle. The event would turn Oryx into a laughing stock for quite a long time, and there's always a storyteller who'll [[NeverLiveItDown recall the embarrassing occurrence to curious listeners.]] It took a few months for Oryx to psychologically recover from the traumatic experience, and in the process had taken many measures to prevent such a horrifying encounter from happening again. When Oryx learned about the Henpire, he decided that space conquest was fully off the table in the Pantheon, and is for now content with the millions of Realms he owns already.
** Brightwing, with the ability to transform enemies into smaller critters, decided to target a simulacrum of Oryx wandering the Pantheon, and transformed the Mad God into a chicken himself. Despite the immense terror he had from reliving such an event as he did on a certain April Fools' Day, the chicken that Oryx became was ''still'' an extremely powerful god. Even as a chicken, Oryx annihilated Brightwing with the power he still had, and the simulacrum chicken would create a trail of ruination and destruction throughout the Pantheon before enough heroes arrived to eliminate the Mad Chicken God. For this reason, the capable deities in the Pantheon have to be reminded that it isn't worth turning Oryx into a chicken, even for fun.
* Oryx and Black Doom have found themselves steadfast allies, as their minions have made a living out of consuming humans. Oryx had also decided to invite Lord Crumb as a friendly collaborator due to his ambition to turn humanity into food as well, noting that what he has to offer would make feeding minions much more efficient. Bonegrind the Butcher certainly can't manage the production all on his own. The God-Emperor of Mankind rightfully deemed Oryx a threat to humanity due to how Oryx sees them as nothing but animals for slaughtering, and for betraying his former king, leaving the kingdom he used to protect to be devastated and ruined. Such a treasonous action was something beyond forgiveness, on top of the other despicable actions toward humanity that the Mad God has committed. Oryx would just laugh at the "God-Emperor" given his sheer ego if it weren't for not wanting to bring the four Chaos Gods into his own business by going on a campaign against the Imperium of Man.

* Rose to Godhood once it is said that even his corpse holds off the line of many enemy soldiers, allowing his Lord Cao Cao escape. To this day, even in the Pantheon, if Dian Wei ever gets assigned to guard something, nobody gets past it.
** All of the above involves no {{dung|Fu}}s. Really. [[Webcomic/SanThreeKingdomsComic But it may be true]].
*** In terms of bodies however, it's stated in the novel that Dian Wei ''actually did'' [[GrievousHarmWithABody use dead bodies]] to pummel away at his foes while guarding Cao Cao's historical escape at Wan Castle. This was due to Huche'er stealing his signature weapon away from him beforehand (either his paired ji, or his hand-axe).
* Leonidas has shown to be impressed by Dian's capability in combat, as well as his loyalty.
* He overheard the three brothers Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei wondering just when his liege Cao Cao is going to ascend. Hearing this, Dian Wei immediately butts in and exclaims that they can bet on his liege appearing any time soon.
** His uttering of his Liege's Name was enough to summon him to The Pantheon, Dian Wei has since made it back to his Lord's side to once again fight under him.
* His style name is said to be "Ziman" in some sources, but of course it could be from a result of either misinformation or a mistranslation alike. Dian Wei just shoves it aside and just often states nowadays that he never had a style name, nor does he somehow care about having one (but he does wish it makes him more on his very-close-friend Xu Chu's level, who's style name is Zhongkang).
** His title of "Coming Evil" is also derived from the very man named "Elai", a bodyguard of the historical King Zhou. Some say that it's either a literal [[IHaveManyNames "other name"]] for him, or it's more of a title due to its literal translation.
* While this incarnation of Dian Wei is most well-known for using a hand-axe, Dian Wei himself mentions other sources had him using a pair of dual ji instead. And while he does enjoy his paired ji, he's also liking his bull-shaped axe that may or may not be named after two different mythological beings behind its name ("Ox Head").
* While he admits that it's a bit awkward that he scares people all the time with his appearance, many gods are surprised to find that Dian Wei really cares about his friends and the common folk alike. Some would say that if he wasn't involved in war, Dian Wei would've been an all-around great guy. He also notes that his bald image wasn't from anything special, since he can't even remember if his historical-self even looked like that in the first place.
** This also goes to show with his SpearCounterpart named [[VisualNovel/KoihimeMusou Liuliu/Ruru]]; word has it that they may be trying to find some way to cook up some great recipes together for some solid feasts between friends.
** On the other hand, he's ''absolutely furious'' on hearing about the other SpearCounterpart, [[Manga/{{Ikkitousen}} Ten'i]] (who just simply has his name rendered in Japanese on'yomi), who suffered tons of parental abuses that she killed her parents. When Sima Yi reined in his own SpearCounterpart who was worshipped by Ten'i, Dian Wei immediately offered to become a foster father figure, and thankfully the girl's psyche is making a recovery as Dian Wei also scares off any AlphaBitch trying to bully her.
* Despite being a bit close with Hideyoshi, Wei tends to upset him when he feels he needs to change for the better. Hideyoshi retorts by saying his rule is much more guaranteed than Cao Cao's of all people.

* UsefulNotes/WorldWarI, fought between August 1914 and November 1918, was one of the deadliest conflicts of the 20th century, and by extension human history. Of the various fronts of this war, the most prominent was none other than the Western Front, fought between France, the British Commonwealth, Belgium, and the United States against the forces of the German Empire. The primary method of fighting on this front involved Trench Warfare, where one side attacked the other's heavily defended trenchline, while the other defended that line from attack. In essence, it was one long series of bloody stalemates, with both sides [[HoldTheLine holding the line]]. The war itself would come to an end in November 1918, following the signing of an Armistice between the Entente and the German Empire.
* Notably, both the Entente Forces and Imperial German Forces on the Western Front are deployed as numerous units, with their standard deployment size each being four-man squads usually composed of a Squad Leader or Officer, a Rifleman, a machine gunner, and a specialist. There are some notable exceptions to this general rule, such as the German Pionere Squad getting a [[FireBreathingWeapon Flamethrower]] instead, or the USMC specialists getting [[ShotgunsAreJustBetter shotguns]] rather than rifles as a weapon option
** For the Entente, these squads include: From France, the Poilus, Chasseurs Alpins, and Tiralleurs Senegalais; From the UK and Commonwealth, the Tommies, [[BraveScot Highlanders]], Canadians, and [=ANZACs=]; From the United States, the US Doughboys and the [[SemperFi United States Marine Corps]]; And finally, there's the Belgian Forces.
** For the German Empire, they have 5 distinct infantry units, each specializing in different weapons and roles. There's the Landsers, the standard German infantrymen, the Schutzen, a HomeGuard unit specializing in defensive warfare, the Alpenjager, a reconnaissance unit originally intended for MountainWarfare, the Stosstruppen, who are specialized in trench assaults and have access to submachine guns, and finally, the Pionere, a [[TheEngineer combat engineer]] unit.
* In stark contrast to their World War II counterparts, who have a larger variety of weapon types ranging from bolt-action rifles to various assault and battle rifles, the World War I factions mainly use only bolt-action rifles, with only a handful getting access to automatic weapons, mainly light machine guns. Those that do get access to submachine guns and semi-automatic rifles are few and far between, due to the more limited technology of their time period and the rather limited and late deployment of these newer weapons at the tail end of the war.
* Both the Entente factions and the German Empire fought on various sectors of the Western Front, with the most notable of these battlefields being Flanders in Belgium, Picardie on the Somme, the Argonne Forest, and the Fort of Douaumont outside of Verdun, the latter three locations being in France. Unsurprisingly, thanks to the [[WarIsHell hellish conditions of a WWI-era battlefield]], all of these locations suffered from SceneryGorn in one way or another, with shell craters, dead soldiers and animals, barbed wire, ruined buildings, and miles of obstacles placed in No Man's Land, an area between the Entente and German trenches.
* Following the end of the war and the dissolution of the German Empire, the forces of both the Entente and the latter would somehow end up in the Pantheon. While it was already common to see deities from World War II ascend by the dozens if not hundreds, and deities who had fought through World War I or its alternate equivalent were already present prior, this was the first time that deities from the First World War would ascend into the Pantheon en masse. In addition, these were not former soldiers from that time period, but entire fully mobilized armies geared for trench assaults and defense.
** And, unsurprisingly, following their mass ascension, both armies once again began fighting over miles of trenchlines, with both Entente and German forces assaulting and/or defending these trenchlines, once again resulting in a massive bloody stalemate and apparent ForeverWar.
* Despite the 20-year time gap between then, many deities from the Second World War, particularly those of French and German nationality, very much sympathize with and are willing to help their predecessors now present in the Pantheon. Of particular note are General Franz Vahlen and Manon Batiste.
** The former was an officer in the Imperial German Army, and a huge advocate of the use of chemical weapons during the war. Thanks in part to wanting to get revenge on the Allies and wanting Germany to finally earn victory, he provided his Imperial German predecessors with much-needed funding for their war effort. Unfortunately, because of his own commitments to the Nazis' war against the Allies and Soviets in the Pantheon, he cannot provide enough aid alone, and thus resorts asking aid from several of his allies from alternate Imperial and Nazi Germanies to plug in the gap.
** The latter, meanwhile, while not a veteran of that war, had her own father fight in that war on the side of the French Army. Knowing the threat that the Germans posed in both World Wars all too well, she elects to provide the Entente with much-needed intelligence, particularly on the Imperial German Forces' size, strength, and troop types. Much like Vahlen, however, her own commitments in the ongoing ForeverWar between the Western Allies and Soviets against the Axis comes first and foremost, preventing her from doing anything more.
* Thanks to the presence of deities from AlternateTimeline {{Kaiser Reich}}s in the Pantheon, the Imperial German Forces have received more direct aid, namely from two prominent {{Military Mage}}s in the form of Tanya von Degurechaff and Sophie, who hail from a 1920s {{Kaiserreich}} and an equivalent of ''both'' Nazi Germany and the German Empire, respectively. On the flipside, the Entente have been helped immensely by Diana of Themyscera, better known as Wonder Woman, and Izetta, Sophie's ArchEnemy and known for saving her home nation of Eylstadt from an invasion by a militaristic Empire. The end result? Both sides end up being witness to an OutsideContextProblem that none of them were ever prepared for, with both the Witches and the Amazon tearing easily through their respective ranks like hot knives through butter. Unsurprisingly, one side fears the other to the point that they consider them TheDreaded, while the other is cheered on as a WarHero slash PropagandaHero slash messiah.
* Despite his terrible past experience, in this a betrayal, at the hands of his former Empire, Lt. Col. Arnold Berkman, partly out of a sense of curiosity and partly to potentially divert Allied attention away from the Axis, decides to help his AlternateTimeline counterparts in their war against the Entente. Thanks to his experience in espionage, he provides them with vital intelligence on the size, strength, and types of enemy forces. In essence, he's acting as the EvilCounterpart of sorts to Manon Batiste.
* And indeed, while the Nazis as a whole cannot provide most materiel or manpower aid to their Imperial German predecessors, they can provide one thing to them without much issue: [[DeadlyGas chemical weapons]]. Whilst Hitler and many of his followers forbade or held back the use of such weapons during World War II, this was very much not the case during the First World War, where chemical weapons were used en masse. Because of this fact, many Nazis, including the aforementioned Vahlen, have elected to have their Imperial German predecessors perform live-fire tests of the their two most potent chemical weapons: the Fort Schmerzen mustard gas and Nova-6.
* While it has been mentioned that there are World War I veterans slash former servicemen in the Pantheon, it's highly unlikely that ''any one'' of them would want anything to do with that war anymore and aid their fellow countrymen. For one, Joe Benham is very much ''not'' in any capability to fight, having been blinded and severely maimed during the way (to the point his fellow countrymen absolutely pity him and send food and monetary donations to him out of concern), Paul Baumer is still traumatized about the war and doesn't even want anything to do with the German Empire anymore (having been killed in action against the French in the past probably helps), and Captain Elliot Spencer has since become a demonic being with little to no shred of his former life (and he'd probably kill anyone on both sides who's unlucky enough to touch his puzzle box, anyway).
* While not a veteran of World War I per se, Violet Evergarden has seen action in a similarly bloody and violent war in her own respective universe, and has since moved on from being a soldier. Upon hearing and then seeing that people, in this case from an AlternateTimeline, are still very much capable of the same industrialized violence against their fellow man, she makes it a point not to involve herself in their ongoing ForeverWar, in stark contrast to the likes of Izetta and Sophie, who very much see involving themselves as an obligation to either defend fellow Allied nations and an ultimate quest of {{Revenge}}, respectively.
* Thanks to having been attacked by elements of the US Army in 1899 and 1911, father-son duo and former outlaws John and Jack Marston have made it a point to avoid making contact with both the US Doughboys and the United States Marine Corps. Fortunately for them, these troops currently have no interest in hunting them down to avenge their fallen comrades, at least at the moment, with both factions currently fully committed to their war against the German Empire. Though, with the huge possibility of the likes of Edgar Ross or Andrew Milton making it into the Pantheon much like them, this potential threat isn't off the books for either of them.
* Unknown to both sides, their conflict is being manipulated by unseen forces (at least to them), one in the name of WarForFunAndProfit, while the other is subtly influencing the actions of both Entente and German officers. These are Sundowner and Ares, respectively.
** In stark contrast to Manon Batiste and General Vahlen, who can only provide limited aid to either side, Sundowner attempts to provide more direct aid, namely {{Cyborg}} technology and 21st-century weaponry, to both sides, so that the industrialized slaughter between both sides can escalate, and they'd make him a regular client. Fortunately, his attempts have thus far been thwarted by Wonder Woman with the help of Raiden, who destroy his weapon shipments before they can even arrive at the Temple, or in this case, Trenchlines of either side.
** Ares, on the other hand, via his Sir Patrick Morgan disguise, has subtly been telling both Entente and German officers to once again form a truce and sign an armistice. However, much like in the past, Ares is only doing this so that both sides can become sympathetic to both the World War II-era Allied and Axis Forces, respectively, and would in turn cause the Second World War and First World War in the Pantheon to escalate into a much larger and more destructive conflict in the belief that HumansAreBastards. However, thanks to Wonder Woman's involvement on the Entente side, Ares has been forced to lay low for the time being, holding himself back until he can get into an advantage to fight and hopefully defeat his Amazon ArchEnemy this time around.

* Some people just attribute Thrawn's analytical skills to his Chiss ethnicity, but this cannot be farther from the truth. Thrawn's own people were befuddled by his ability to collect detailed tactical knowledge from insignificant or obscure details. Thrawn seeks to perfect [[Literature/TheArtOfWar the art of war]]'''[[labelnote:*]]which he has indeed read[[/labelnote]]'''. He believes that in order to defeat a worthy opponent, one must know the opponent in every aspect, including their history, philosophy and culture. He was able to discern the identity of a disguised Hera Syndulla simply from studying the Kalikori she was holding and the Syndulla family portrait. He's got a bit of the Information Age in him. He treats Sherlock Holmes with some reverence as he was one of the main contributors to Thrawn's creation.

** It should be noted that Thrawn is not omniscient. If something [[GodzillaThreshold totally unexpected comes up]], he ''can'' think up a plan on the fly, but do not expect him to pull off a miracle victory, like when the purrgils were summoned by Ezra.

* A high-ranking member of a French Resistance cell originally based in and near Paris, Manon Batiste was eventually recruited into the UsefulNotes/{{OSS}} due to her expertise in infiltration, guerilla tactics, and connections to other French Resistance cells. In stark contrast to OSS agent Lt. Jimmy Patterson and US Army Ranger Lt. Mike Powell, who operated both on the frontline as well as deep behind enemy lines depending on their current missions, Manon Batiste exclusively carried out her missions while TrappedBehindEnemyLines. These missions were, unsurprisingly, some of the most dangerous of their, as Manon herself operated mostly alone, was constantly outnumbered and outgunned, and risked being either killed in action or being captured, tortured, and executed by the Gestapo.
** In stark contrast to her colleagues from the OSS, who regularly engage in frontline combat as well as infiltration and sabotage missions, Manon exclusively takes part in infiltration and sabotage missions, due to being a Resistance fighter and leader first and foremost, rather than being a trained soldier or operative. That said, she's still capable of taking out conventional military units singlehandedly using a mix of guerilla tactics and her own skills, as demonstrated during her numerous encounters with German tanks, half-tracks, and mechanized infantry during her missions in Europe and North Africa.
* Manon Batiste was born on May 1, 1912, as the second of three children of a French World War I veteran, in Dubuisson, France. She and her two siblings would spend most of their lives growing up and living in Paris. When the Germans invaded France in 1940, Jacques, her older brother, decided to resist the German Occupation Forces and [[LesCollaborateurs their Vichy Collaborators]]. For two years, Jacques served as TheFace of his Resistance cell, with Manon remaining lowkey and working in complete secrecy. This would change on Manon's 30th birthday, May 1st 1942. During a mission to secure German ammunition and supplies from the Gestapo, Jacques was killed when the truck he was attempting to steal was blown up by members of the SS Demolition Squad. Manon, while devastated by her brother's untimely demise, chose to continue fighting, and fled the city of light via its massive catacombs, and killing any Gestapo thugs and Vichy French along the way. While managing to successfully escape Paris, this wouldn't be the end of her trouble just yet. With help from French Resistance agent Fabrice Delacroix, Manon was able to save the members of her Resistance cell from a German tank and mechanized infantry attack on their village HQ, successfully destroying or concealing their activities in the process.
* Some time following the botched raid in Paris and the aforementioned German attack, Manon had managed to successfully make contact with Col. Stanley Hargrove of the UsefulNotes/{{OSS}}. Whilst Hargrove and the other OSS knew about the existence of Jacques and his Resistance cell, and that he was working with someone close to him, none of them expected that very someone to be his sister, let alone a woman. But after hearing about what she did in Paris and during the German tank attack, Hargrove and his men knew she was the real deal, and kindly extended an invitation for her to work with them as an agent. Unsurprisingly given the situation in France, Manon accepted the offer, using her already impressive skills in infiltration, espionage, and sabotage.
** Under the direct supervision of Captain Ted Aubrick, Manon would carry out some of the OSS's most dangerous missions throughout Nazi-occupied Europe and the Mediterranean. These locations would include Morocco, North Africa during Operation ''Torch'', at Crete, at Wewelsburg in Germany, at Monte Cassino in Italy, and, of course, in Occupied France. During her mission in Morocco, she was assisted by Lt. James Steven Patterson, then a USAAF transport pilot, in escaping from a German airbase. Col. Stanley Hargrove had even mentioned to Manon that Patterson wasn't given the full details of the mission, and was explicitly told not to even look at her. Hargrove himself would take an interest the USAAF officer due to him having the potential to be an OSS recruit, as well as having the very skills that the members of the organization needed badly.
** Following the D-Day landings in June 1944, Manon would play a significant role in assisting the Allied Forces, namely by directly and indirectly aiding members of the OSS in their missions in German-occupied sections of France. Lt. Jimmy Patterson, following his two heroic actions on D-Day, was offered a position into the OSS by Col. Hargrove, which he readily accepted in exchange for immediately taking his first mission for them: rescuing a downed [=G3=] officer carrying vital Allied intelligence from the Gestapo. His primary contact and MissionControl? None other than Manon Batiste, who promptly directed him to the Maquis hideouts and weapon caches in the area he was operating in, which just so happened to be Manon's own hometown of Dubuisson. She would continue serving as Patterson's main contact in the field until the end of the war, save for a brief time between the Liberation of Paris and Operation ''Market-Garden''.
** Around the same time that Patterson carried out his first mission as part of the OSS, Lt. Mike Powell of the 2nd Ranger Battalion, taking missions for the organization, rescued the aforementioned pilot, Lt. Joe Baylor, from Gestapo captivity, and linked up with Manon's resistance cell. The Maquis leader then provided Powell with a High-Standard HDM silenced pistol, as well as the details for both his mission to divert German forces away from the area they were in, and the German-occupied manor he was to raid. Manon herself would also help the Lieutenant escape from the manor, by providing him with a quick getaway vehicle and serving as his GetawayDriver.
** Manon's finest hour, however, would be during the Liberation of Paris in late August 1944. Assisting another French Resistance group in pulling off an uprising against the German occupation forces based in the City of Light, she helped liberate the city's police station by killing the Vichy French Milice who defended it, took out platoons of fanatical Waffen-SS troops and their armored support, and even took out a traitor in the French Resistance. Her most notable action, however, was taking out two entire trains worth of Waffen-SS Demolition Squad soldiers and the explosives that they had intended to use to raze Paris, a fitting revenge against the very same men responsible for her brother's death.
* Following the Liberation of Paris, Manon would continue to help the OSS, as well as her own country's intelligence agency, in a more lowkey role, mainly serving as MissionControl for Patterson as well as a number of other OSS agents in the field, as well as continuing to spy on the Germans via deep cover operation. At one point, during the Battle of the Bugle, she was briefly captured and interrogated by German forces under Freder Engel, and was fortunately rescued by OSS agent Lt. William Holt.
** It was rumored that, following the end of the War in Europe, Lt. Jimmy Patterson had proposed to Manon. Whether she accepted his offer or reciprocated his feelings is unknown, although it is confirmed that Patterson eventually had children, and later, a grandson, the latter of whom fought in the US Army Rangers during UsefulNotes/TheWarOnTerror.
* For her actions DuringTheWar, Manon would receive a number of medals, all of them reserved for the French military. These would be: la Médaille de la campagne d'Italie, la Croix de guerre, a Médaille de la France libérée, la Croix de la Libération, and, most notably, Légion d'honneur, France's highest military decoration. In addition to these, Manon also kept a number of mementos from a few of her other operations, which included a piece of destroyed V1 Flying Bomb, a Foreign Legion Badge, a photograph of the defaced ruins in Crete, an SS ring, and, most important to her, the locket of her late brother Jacques.
* While there were already large numbers of Allied soldiers in the Pantheon, mainly from the United States and Soviet Union, with a handful of British soldiers on the side, thus far there have been none from France. This would soon change with the ascension of Manon Batiste, whose reputation has become known amongst the Allies in the Pantheon thanks to the efforts of Lt. Jimmy Patterson and Lt. Mike Powell. Manon herself would be ascended thanks to these two OSS agents, who by now have been fighting the Nazis and their various allies across the Pantheon. With the Axis forces increasing their numbers by the day, and the OSS and SOE becoming increasingly overstretched, the demand for agents capable of operating deep behind enemy lines and performing espionage reached an all-time high. With help from Steven Spielberg, who was responsible for the creation of both Patterson's and Powell's stories, French Resistance fighter, RebelLeader, and part-time OSS Agent Manon Batiste was ascended into the Pantheon as the '''Goddess Of Being TrappedBehindEnemyLines'''.
* Upon being reunited with both Lt. Jimmy Patterson and Lt. Mike Powell, her old colleagues from the OSS, the French Resistance leader was briefed about the circumstances behind her ascension and deployment into the Pantheon, what exactly the Pantheon was, the strategic situation between the Allied and Axis Forces, and what exactly lay before her in the Pantheon itself. Having seen her fair share of things DuringTheWar, Manon wasn't fazed in the slightest, at least at first. Pretty soon, she would be working alongside a number of other deities fighting against the Axis Forces, from the usual Allied soldiers and agents, to superpowered, enhanced, and supernatural deities defying common belief.
* With that out of the way, the French Resistance fighter was then briefed by Nicholas J. Fury for her first mission. She, Patterson, and Powell would be deployed to North Africa in order to hamper the Axis Occupation of North Africa. For this, Manon would rendezvous with two individuals, an American national named Rick Blaine, who has since become an OSS contact and informant for the Allies, and Lt. Karl Fairburne, a veteran of the North African Campaign, SOE Agent, and sniper who has worked with and for the OSS numerous times. Despite her unfamiliarity with the Pantheon, Manon's first mission, which involved stealing vital German intelligence relating to General Franz Vahlen's resurrected Project "Seuche" and the Nemesis Squadron's bases of operation in the region, was ultimately a resounding success, and then some. Managing to successfully infiltrate the Pont Du Fahs Airfield, one of Vahlen's major supply bases which was also being used by Nemesis to house their fighters and bombers, Manon, with Fairburne's sniper support and Blaine's intelligence gathered beforehand, was able to sabotage the German fighters and bombers parked in and around the field, destroy a German radio tower in the area, steal maps which revealed the locations of more Axis bases belonging to Vahlen, Nemesis, and the Schutzvollstrecker, and kill a few German officers carrying more vital intelligence.
* Having been deployed Italy prior, Manon was immediately offered another chance to redeploy in that theater of operations by Lt. Karl Fairburne, who himself fought in the country from mid-1943 to early 1944. In addition to helping organize guerilla attacks against General Heinz Bohm's forces stationed throughout the country, Manon, alongside Fairburne and US paratrooper Cpl. Boyd Travers, have gone after the General's missile production facilities and airbases, destroying the missiles themselves, their components, the production and storage facilities, major transport hubs, and any and all aircraft capable of carrying them.
** Aside from that, Manon has also been informed by Lt. Fairburne about Bohm's allies within the Italian Fascist government, the Four Libertines. These four Italian Fascists are infamous for their brutal butchering of local civilians in the final years of the war, and have been doing the same treatment to both captured Resistance fighters and Allied prisoners-of-war caught within General Bohm's area of jurisdiction. Finding them to be nasty pieces of work even by Nazi and Fascist standards, Manon agrees to help the SOE agent arrange a mission to assassinate them.
* With Omaha Beach being a major fighting ground between American and German Forces, and being located within a part of France, Manon would once again play a major role in helping American Rangers and Paratroopers secure the inland areas surrounding said beach. Once again working alongside Lt. Mike Powell, Lt. Jimmy Patterson, and Lt. Karl Fairburne, Manon would help sabotage German railroads, vehicles, and weapons shipments while also killing any German officers and soldiers when the opportunity presented itself. These guerilla activities caused the German Forces in the area to divert entire units away from the beach, and focus on guarding important locations further inland, namely railway stations, headquarters, and major urban areas along highways and crossroads.
** Additionally, with both Nemesis and Operation ''Kraken'' having multiple bases, testing facilities, and factories within France, including Normandy, Manon has also been leading and directing both commando raids and air strikes on these facilities, with the forces in question usually hailing from the US Army Rangers and the Battlehawks, both of whom have seen their fair share of actions in Normandy, not to mention attacks against German secret weapons facilities. In the midst of these missions, the French Resistance leader has also made significant efforts to rescue any Allied pilot shot down over German-occupied territory, at great risk to her own life and that of her resistance hideouts. One of these pilots whom she rescued was James Chase of the aforementioned Battlehawks, who was unlucky enough to get shot out of the sky by Nemesis Squadron leader Oberst Krieger.
* By far Manon Batiste's biggest contribution in the Pantheon, however, would be helping take down the various [[StupidJetpackHitler Nazi wonderweapons operations]] being deployed by the Nazis in the Pantheon, both as a MissionControl director and in person. Having successfully analyzed the intelligence she stole from North Africa, Manon, with help from SSR operatives Agent Peggy Carter, Capt. Steve Rogers, and Sgt. James Buchanan Barnes, was able to discover that Vahlen and Nemesis were being assisted by members HYDRA, one of Nazi Germany's many SS divisions, specifically their Deep Science Division. With this confirmation, Manon would now be joined by not only her OSS colleagues, but would also be accompanied by the aforementioned trio of SSR members as well as OSA Operative Captain William J. Blazkowicz, a renowned NaziHunter and expert in irregular warfare. Much like she did before in her own universe, she provides them safehouse locations, bases of operation, and hidden weapon caches to both old and new allies alike, gives them the objectives that need to be taken out, dealt with, or retrieved, and occasionally accompanies them on their missions, sometimes even providing her new allies a mode of transport, infiltration into a highly guarded facility or area, and, methods of escape.
* Due to having past experience in taking down Nazi archaeological operations, the French Resistance fighter has also gone after the likes of Dr. Rene Belloq, a French archaeologist on the Nazis' payroll. It's because of this shared resentment for Nazis and their collaborators that Manon becomes acquaintances with Dr. Henry Walton Jones, Jr., an American archaeologist and part-time agent of the OSS. Jones himself thanks the French Resistance leader for getting him out of more than one sticky situation with the Nazis, and in turn providing her with more intel regarding Belloq, particularly his history with Jones and what he did in the their universe.
* In addition to her duties in the OSS and French Resistance, Manon Batiste has also been tasked with helping train and rearm the military of the recently-ascended [[Pantheon/FictionalSettings Principality of Eylstadt]], which coincidentally had also been recently liberated by Allied Forces following a months-long battle of attrition with Nazi Forces. Specifically, she's been serving as a military advisor, teaching their officers and soldiers on how to collect intelligence, conduct espionage, and wage irregular warfare. It was also because of Manon's excellent intelligence gathering abilities that led to Archduchess Ortfine Fredericka von Eylstadt being freed from Nazi captivity, as well as her being informed ahead of a planned AssassinationAttempt by members of the Schutzvollstrecker. It's thanks to these aforementioned actions that she becomes a close ally of the Archduchess and the Eylstadt government, as well as to Izetta, the nation's PropagandaHero and a witch of immense magical strength. The Second Coming of the White Witch, in fact, has been using Manon's intel to her advantage, destroying important German bases and transport hubs near the Eylstadt border. Consequently, these actions by the French Resistance fighter have in turn earned the ire of Lt. Col. Arnold Berkman and Sophie, both of whom formerly worked for the Germanian Empire, and were now collaborating with the Nazis in their shared goal of conquering and destroying Eylstadt. Berkman himself has been working closely with the Schutzvollstrecker in tracking down, and eventually, assassinating the French Resistance fighter and her allies, not helped by the fact that his new superiors and colleagues want her dead as well for ruining their respective plans.
''"For gallantry in action and an unwavering steadfastness to the principles of liberty, equality, and brotherhood, we proudly extend to you the highest honor in France...La Legion d'Honneur!"''
