* Enemies: '''[[Film/{{Psycho}} Norman Bates & his mother Norma]]''' (non-ascended), '''[[Pantheon/WritingTechniques Bernkastel]]''', any serial killers
* High Priest: [[Literature/BraveNewWorld Bernard Marx]]
* Marion was thought by the other gods to be the main characters of her world, until she took that fateful shower and got killed horrifically by Norman Bates. The fact that she is a developed character with her own conflict and character act as well as one of the first and most shocking twist in cinematic history caused the gods from the House of Life and Death to resurrect her and put her into the throne.
** However, true to her position, her resurrection is quickly discovered to be a side effect of an exiled [[Pantheon/LifeAndDeath Jean Grey-Summers]]'s Phoenix Force power. The gods quickly jumped to find Jean in order for her to return to her throne in the House of Life and Death while Marion was left in the dust as she doesn't have any particular power.
** During the aftermath, Marion has a brief crisis about being shoved out of the spotlight ''again'' and is very resentful of Jean. However, after a RousingSpeech from one of her fellow gods Kamina (and a translator), Marion acknowledge that she is graceful for her position and vows to do her best to earn her throne and redemption.
* Her temple is a weird place: Most of her followers doesn't really realize they aren't the main characters until the narrative kill them off from their world and transported there by the House of Life and Death.
* She has a weird relationship her killer Norman Bates: While she hates him for killing her and destroy her chance to have her own story and redemption, he is the one responsible for her ascendant to godhood in the first place. However, she despises his mother Norma for being the one responsible for his insanity and problems. She took comfort by the fact that she ascended and they did not.
** Though her opinion on Norma and Norman became even more conflicted when the gods found out that in [[Series/BatesMotel an alternative universe]], Norman already has problems when he was young and his mother just unknowingly worsen his problems because she has a SanitySlippage caused by the [[CrapsaccharineWorld environment]] of [[TownWithADarkSecret White Pine Bay]].
* Hates Bernkastel's guts for trying to weaponize her temple through her game piece Erika and vows to keep her from using it ever again.
* Only using bathtub whenever she goes to the bathroom for [[ItWasHisSled obvious reasons]] and made sure her door has at least two bodyguards with special powers.
* Strikes up an unlikely friendship with Prince Zuko as he sympathizes with the fact her journey is somewhat [[{{Foil}} opposites]] his: He achieved main character status in his universse through his redemption while she was killed off before she can achieved hers. However, she declined his offer to make a play to explore what would happen if she has escaped Norman, citing that it would make her goddesshood entirely pointless. In truth, it was because she heard warning from [[Pantheon/{{Nature}} Aang]] about how much... [[AdaptationDecay li]][[InNameOnly berty]] his Fire Kingdom playwrights can took.
* Despite being told by the other gods as unnecessary, she insists on taking some sort of punishment for her crime during the time that she was mortal. They decided to enlist her into the case of a fan community that keeps harassing Harry Potter as they think he is a DecoyProtagonist and Hermione Granger is the "real" main character of the books. Marion quickly solved the case by declare that because Harry received a large amount of plot importance and character development throughout his franchise, he therefore is a true protagonist in his own right. While the case was deemed by Marion herself and the other gods as just an excuse for her to gain some sort of closure on her crime, she gained Harry, Hermione and Ron's major point for solving an annoying problem for them.
* Befriended her fellow goddess Aerith for the fact that their death is a well-known fact of their story. She helps Aerith keeps guard of the Book of Plot Twists.
* After ascending to the pantheon, Marion enlists [[Pantheon/{{Knowledge}} Sherlock Holmes]]'s help to see if [[Pantheon/{{Crime}} Carmen Sandiego]] stole the title protagonist from her movie. The detective dismisses her case and points out that [[EvenEvilHasStandards Carmen doesn't steal things that would lead to killing]].
* Is frequently seen in the House of Knowledge & Technology to catch up what she has been missing from the 60s. It's reported from the House of Narrative that her favorite invention is the home release system.

* In life, the Waynes were a family of [[HonestCorporateExecutive kindly philanthropists]] who contributed to Gotham's success. However, [[ItWasHisSled as everyone knows]] they died at the hands of a mugger. Their son Bruce dedicated the rest of his life to avenge their deaths and stop the crime that killed them, becoming the hero Batman. [[DependingOnTheWriter Their opinion on this varies]], but the Wayne family is still alive and working to make the world better nonetheless.
* They have noted a disturbing (at least to them) trend of [[DeceasedParentsAreTheBest superheroes with dead parents]], which they're afraid that they somehow started:
-->'''Thomas''': "My God, is ''every'' superhero's dad/mom dead?!"
** Their annoyance at this has only been compounded with how often it shows up in other media, like shonen manga.
* While most agree that it was a random mugging, [[DependingOnTheWriter their reason for dying varies]]. Sometimes their killer Joe Chill is an assassin, sometimes he's a desperate thief and sometimes it's part of an elaborate conspiracy. [[ComicBook/{{BatmanEarthOne}} This has been the case in one reality]], where they fell victim to. In another reality [[Film/Batman1989 it was Jack Napier aka The Joker who shot them]].
* Entering the Pantheon has been a boon for Bruce, who finally gets to be with his parents. However, it hasn't been the first time Batman met them after their death; when [[Pantheon/TechnologicalExperts Brainiac]] [[ComicBook/{{Convergence}} took various timelines]], it finally allowed Batman to see his father, albeit [[ComicBook/{{Earth2}} from another universe]] again. [[spoiler:Too bad the Joker]] got him killed, like he did [[Film/Batman1989 in another reality.]] He will meet his mother again, [[spoiler:[[ComicBook/WhateverHappenedToTheCapedCrusader at the end of his life]] when he is about to be reincarnated as himself.]]
* Desiring his parents to be alive again, Batman has been scrawling across the multiverse for a scenario. Unfortunately, he has only discovered ''two'' realities where they survived.
** The first [[ComicBook/{{Flashpoint}} is a reality where]] he was the one gunned down, Thomas is [[AntiHeroSubstitute a far more aggressive Batman]], and his mother is [[spoiler:''the freaking JOKER.'']] Oh, and it's a CrapsackWorld about to destroy itself in war. And the Flash created it by going back in time and saving ''his'' mother from being killed by his arch-nemesis the Reverse-Flash, who ''himself had gone back in time to kill her to begin with. This reality was revisited by Bruce and the Flash while investigating [[spoiler:[[Pantheon/OtherPowers Doctor Manhattan]]]]'s alteration of the DC Universe. There, Thomas and Bruce met for real, but their reunion did not last long, as the ''Flashpoint'' world was in its final moments. Before Bruce and the Flash returned to their world, Bruce begged Thomas to come with him, as he had become a grandfather, but Thomas told Bruce [[spoiler:to hang the cape and cowl and be a father to Damian, the way he couldn't be for Bruce.]]
** The second is a reality where Batman himself intervened across the multiverse in stopping the killing. In this case, the Bruce Wayne grew up a happy son who became Batman out of awe and gratitude to the mysterious man who saved him as a child. However, as Batman had to bend the rules of reality to make this timeline work, most say it doesn't count.
* Thomas Wayne is a fan of masquerade balls, [[DependingOnTheWriter sometimes]] dressing up as "the Batman." He's not a fan of rock and roll, but his son is. [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall And he's sick of a certain reviewer claiming otherwise.]]
* [[DependingOnTheWriter They may have another son]], who's usually [[LukeIAmYourFather a villain of sorts.]] [[Pantheon/{{Combat}} Bane]] thought he might be Thomas' child from an affair, but that turned out not to be the case. Both parties are trying to pretend that never happened.
* With their revival in the pantheon, the Waynes are forming the [[HonestCorporateExecutive Generous, Opulant]] [[FunWithAcronyms Philanthropist]] Team to fund the GUAG. They have their son, [[Pantheon/{{Commerce}} Scrooge McDuck]] and [[Pantheon/{{Technology}} Iron Man]] join.
* In lieu of [[DeathByOriginStory their fate]], the Waynes have also built an orphanage for the pantheon.
* Recent rumors have circulated that [[VideoGame/BatmanTheTelltaleSeries the Waynes were actually]] [[spoiler: a gangster family, and that only Alfred was clean in raising Bruce]]. No comment has come out of the pantheon yet for this information, though its accuracy is apparently in dispute.
* Thomas became pleased that his old friend [[Pantheon/TimePlacement Jor-El]] had entered the Pantheon. The two engage in long conversations about their old lives and agreed their sons have become the best men they could ever hope to be.
* Not so pleasing was the arrival of Eobard Thawne, the man whose murder of Barry Allen's mother created the opening for the ''Flashpoint'' timeline. Especially given that during the closing moments of that timeline, Thomas killed Thawne, though installments disagree on whether he stabbed him with a sword or shot him with a gun. He knows that kind of villain is gonna want payback somehow.

* Oppose: The House of Pantheon/{{War}}, [[Pantheon/{{Officers}} Cole Phelps]], [[Pantheon/{{Cultures}} America]]
* Seita and Setsuko are two siblings who lost their parents in World War II. Being far too young to live by themselves, they moved in with their aunt. Since they didn't earn their keep and times were trying, she eventually drove them away. Seita and Setsuko were forced to fend for themselves in the streets, living in a cave and stealing food. This being wartime Japan, food was scarce and there was no compassion to spare for the orphans. In the end, Seita's efforts were in vain and he had to bury his little sister Setsuko after she starved to death, while he lost his will to live and followed her shortly.
* Few things evoke a sense of tragedy quite like the sight of a child dying. Accordingly, ''Grave of the Fireflies'' is one of the most notorious {{Tear Jerker}}s of all time. In the midst of the Pantheon bawling their eyes out at a screening of the film, someone drew attention to the DeathOfAChild trope and how Seita and Setsuko were just the perfect representatives for it, as unlike the vast majority of examples, they aren't just disposable side characters that only exist to motivate the hero, but protagonists themselves. Besides the fact that their tale is really important and considered a classic. Thus the Main House unanimously decided that they should be ascended from their status in limbo and well cared for after their trials in the mortal realm.
* It is said that every time a child dies, these two will be there to guide them to the afterlife, with fireflies floating around them to light the path.
* It may seem contradictory, but Seita and Setsuko's story is not, in fact, a dissertation on how war is terrible and must be stopped. It's also not a guilt trip to get rebellious teens to obey their parents. The real aesop of the children's tale is about the need for empathy among people even at the worst of times.
** The anti-war advocates of the Pantheon will still invoke Seita and Setsuko's story as an argument even so. The siblings don't necessarily mind; after all, war ''did'' take their parents from them and put them in that horrible situation. They know all too well now that in any war, people will suffer through things no one, including children like them, should have to.
** Seita was very patriotic in life, but considering that didn't help him or Setsuko even a bit, and how he learned about the Axis and their atrocities at the Elysium Academy, he has more conflicted feelings now. He still can't forgive the Allies for causing his parents' deaths though. He's not interested in revenge though, he just wants to live in peace with Setsuko.
*** Seita can't bring himself to have a high opinion of deities who fought on the Allies side. He's profoundly annoyed by America's boisterousness and casting himself as "the hero"; Seita feels that America is just a bully. He was also disturbed at Cole Phelps' history of ordering the flamethrower on his squad to attack a Japanese makeshift hospital (considering his mother died in one of these), even if it was by accident (Phelps thought the cave wasn't a hospital and was full of Japanese soldiers) and Cole feels terrible about it.
* They don't have all that much in common with their fellow Ghibli deities, considering how ''un''fantastical and brutally realistic their home universe is. Still, they managed to make good friends with Satsuki and Mei Kusakabe who lived around the same time period, so they have an understanding, if vague on account of their age, of the harshness Seita and Setsuko had to go through. Seita thinks the sisters make better playmates for Setsuko than him. The Kusakabe sisters have tried introducing them to Totoro, however while Setsuko can see him fine (and often takes naps on top of him), Seita's innocence is so broken down from his experiences that he can barely perceive the spirit (though even without that he might be too old to see Totoro in the first place).
* Being two of the biggest woobies in history leads to a number of deities wanting to look after them. Toriel is an obvious one, as she tends to mother all "lost" child deities. Mako of the Shinkenger is also always checking on them and wanting to comfort them. Setsuko definitely enjoys their attentions and Seita is happy for her, though Seita at fourteen is growing a bit too proud to allow himself to indulge in this, even if he dearly misses their mother. He's more drawn to Charlie Barkin for his tough, street-smart style, which Seita wishes he had when he was living alone with Setsuko (also it probably helps that like the siblings, Charlie knows what it's like to be dead).
* As an author who's always sympathetic to the plights of children, Charles Dickens finds their tale very interesting and is seriously considering writing a tract against war in his next book. In the meantime, Seita has expressed interest in reading ''Oliver Twist''.
* Anyone who gets the bright idea of harming [[SacredCow these two]] is sure to become a target of the wrath of the entire Pantheon (well, the good deities, anyway). But considering the two siblings don't have anything of value to offer, they don't have any real enemies in the first place.
* The House of Food reports that they are fairly big eaters, which is understandable considering how the war forced them to ration food and they both starved to death. In their frequent excursions to the House, the siblings have become friends with residents Hansel and Gretel, themselves a brother-sister duo where the brother takes good care of the sister.
** Incidentally, the House decided to stock on Setsuko's favorite candy tins since the siblings' ascension; Setsuko's own candy tin automatically refills through Pantheon magic.

It was partially because of Jonathan that Shido earned a place in the Pantheon/GUAGCombatDivision. He later went on to comfort Luke Skywalker [[spoiler:after his failure to resurrect the Jedi Order and his indirect role in Kylo Ren's fall to the dark side]]. Jonathan was also outraged when he learned that Spider-Man was temporarily killed when Doctor Octopus stole his body. Angry that Spider-Man's heroic life was temporarily ended by such a cruel and petty motive, Jonathan quickly barged into Doc Ock's temple and punched the evil doctor that he was forced to stay in the hospital for several weeks, causing Ock to swear vengeance.

Also helps that they both think that another revolution leader, Light Yagami, who plans on continuing his Kira revolution, is going too far killing innocents just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
