*** And to top it all off, it’s later revealed that Emilia believes that ''pregnancy'' was caused by kissing, only realizing her mistake later on when Subaru corrects her. Knowing that and watching the kiss of death again certainly shows some VERY dark implications of how far insane!Emilia has fallen and would do to keep Subaru with her in some way..

** In the first loop, he arrives after Elsa has already completed her transaction, and the scene where he enters the house wouldn't be out of place in a slasher movie. With just the light of his cell phone, he scans the room, which is appropriately foreboding (complete with a CreepyDoll), and suddenly walks into a sticky substance. The camera pans upwards to reveal Rom's already dead body, with his throat slit open and blood everywhere, before Subaru is suddenly stabbed by Elsa. We are then treated to the scene already shown briefly at the start of the episode, where he desperately cries out for Emilia not to enter, already gurgling on his own blood, before she's taken down in the blink of an eye. Then the lovely [[ScareChord "Call of the Witch"]] theme accompanies his first rebirth.
** His next death is no better, when, under the assumption that he just dreamed up the first time, he tries to get to Rom and Felt early. He acquires Emilia's insignia after outbidding Elsa using his cellphone, and it [[HopeSpot briefly seems like the situation will be resolved bloodlessly as she prepares to leave.]] That is, until he thoughtlessly blurts out that he wants to return the insignia to its owner. Immediately, it's made clear [[OhCrap just how much of a mistake that was.]] In short order: Elsa attacks him with no warning, Rom tries to fight her but is incapacitated with little effort before being [[OhNoNotAgain stabbed in the throat]], Felt then goes for the kill but [[DeathOfAChild gets brutally slain in an instant]], before Subaru finally wakes up from his shock and tries confronting Elsa on his own. To no avail, of course, as he's hopelessly outmatched; Elsa reveals that she'd [[YouAreAlreadyDead already gutted him when walking by him]], leaving the poor guy to slowly and agonizingly bleed out on the floor as she delights in his painful death.
*** '''''"Slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly..."'''''

* The anime's soundtrack is fairly scary at times, with memorable tracks like [[https://youtu.be/nNVX0raSfvY Tabboo Investigation]] and [[https://youtu.be/8e_JWu8StjM Hexentanz]] building an atmosphere of foreboding and dread with their witch-like chanting and deep, sharp strings. King of them all is '''[[https://youtu.be/CJiG15euUes Call of the Witch]]''', which is used to punctuate particularly disturbing scenes. The vocals in this track also sound like ''laughter'', which only emphasizes the hopelessness of Subaru's current situation. If this track plays, something has gone horribly wrong with this timeline.
