* The teaser poster and teaser trailer that revealed the arrival of dinosaurs to the franchise. In the teaser poster, Mama has her head up against a terrified Manny, Sid, and Diego who are gaping in terror at the viewer as if to try to beg for help. The teaser trailer then ends with Scrat falling into the lost world and finding himself at Mama's mercy as she roars at him. It's made ''immensely'' clear that the Sub-Zero Heroes are in for a rough time...

* When a molehog causes Mama to charge the village, the animals can only flee in terror like, well, prey for the apex predator. But Mama being so drastically oversized means that even the mammals, who are used to being the largest animals around, are completely helpless due to being so incredibly small to her. While Mama isn't actively hunting and is looking for her babies, she easily could've decimated the ''entire'' village of much smaller mammals without any trouble, and the fleeing herd looks like a fleeing group of baby animals even though many of them are fully grown. All this drives in the fact of just how outclassed the heroes will be when they have to venture to the lost world, where Mama is ''far'' from the biggest threat...

** Given the sheer size discrepancy between the two of them Buck is frankly ''lucky'' that an eye is all that he lost from a swipe of Rudy's claws...

* The baby ''Tyrannosaurs'' rampaging among the young mammals quickly became rather distressing, culminating with one baby violently pushing an aardvark so he'll fall right into his sibling's waiting, hungry mouth.

* ''Manny’s Nightmare''. It starts off with Ellie waking up near the campfire and realizing she is all by herself. She starts calling out for her friends until she hears a sound. In the bushes, a monster with glowing eyes (resembling Rudy) peaks its eyes through the bushes, and promptly attacks her! The nightmare ends before things could get gruesome, but it sets Manny’s internal fears about losing Ellie. He is still affected from the loss of his previous wife.

** Then Manny misinterprets her alarm as hunger and attempts to pick a fruit that's lying around in plain sight...which turns out to be a trap laid by a carnivorous flower that grabs Manny and Diego with its vines and traps them inside its petals. According to Buck, they'll be digested in minutes if they don't get out.

* The gas cavern. Sure, it's funny with the gas making Manny, Diego, Crash. Eddie and Buck's voice high-pitched and it makes them laugh silly, [[MoodWhiplash but then Ellie discovers the horrible truth as Buck points to the skeletons of laughing dinosaurs who previously died there]]. In other words, the gas is essentially a helium version of the [[ComicBook/TheJoker Joker Toxin]]!

Removing esosteric reference to a completely unrelated work. How many people who watched this movie read Berserk? Probably not many

* The fact that [[EyeScream Buck got one of his eyes]] ''[[EyeScream clawed by Rudy]]'' in his backstory told to the gang. [[Manga/{{Berserk}} Does that remind you of anything?]]

* A minor NightmareFuel, but when we see Scrat after the tar bubble scene, he's shown unconscious and dangling from the tree by some tar. While that might not seem disturbing out of context, but the way Scrat is positioned when he was unconscious (his head lowered, neck raised and motionless), it look like he [[AccidentalSuicide accidentally hung himself on the way down]]. Fortunately, Scart is revealed to [[DisneyDeath still be alive moments after]], but still.
