Mitigated somewhat if you found the extra nightstone, using it to ward them off.

** In the 2022 remake it's mentioned that her hatred for the Stone Guardian is so great, she cursed him and everyone in his bloodline to have a miserable life and die at a short age. And Suga happens to be his last living descendant.
** What makes things worse? All of this happened because of the God of the Forest's actions. Since most people in the modern era don't believe or worship them like they used to anymore, he had been reduced to a small snake. One day he encountered a young Tsuyu Kanzaki, who happened to be afraid of snakes. The Stone Guardian killed the snake to protect her, cementing the god's hatred for humanity. As revenge, [[DisproportionateRetribution he cursed the Stone Guardian into falling in love with Tsuyu, which resulted into him killing her unborn child and Tsuyu commiting suicide and becoming the Taking Spirit]]. All because of a snake.

* The house in the middle of the woods. The blood inside is bad enough, but the contents of the cave inside are enough to make your stomach churn. There’s the pale, misshapen ghosts that roam some of the rooms and threaten to kill you, there’s the butchering room filled with red, lumpy shapes and tiny bones, the prison cells where you have to walk over a dead skeleton, the obscene room with all the groaning and the red text on the screen ranting about having “copulated and given birth”, and to top it all off, the moment you get out to the underground waterfall where it seems like the horror has passed, [[spoiler: you enter into a chase with a ghost demanding you stay with them for “mommy”.]]
