** A bit of FridgeHorror: What happens if you fail? [[GameOverMan Game over.]] Try again, right? Except...what if you don't? Then Honomi herself will inevitably drown, since the player can no longer control her, and she's stuck underwater with no way back to the surface. This can cross into [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments heartwarming]] when one considers that Honomi is willing to do anything to save her friend, [[HeroicSacrifice even if it costs her her own life]], but it can also cross into TearJerker territory when one considers that Honomi will soon [[TogetherInDeath be joining her best friend in death.]]

* Meta example: The game actually has a [[DontTryThisAtHome a very well-written health and medical disclaimer]] that warns players not to imitate the deep sea diving that occurs throughout the entire game without any precautions or supervision. The game's instances of near-drowning experiences are actually toned down from what could've happened in RealLife, instead, such as outright ''death'', or at the very least ''severe brain damage'' from lack of oxygen. There ''is'' a reason why the OxygenMeter page takes note that death by asphyxiation [[TruthInTelevision is often portrayed more realistically]] than other forms of death in VideoGames.
* With the above discussion about RealLife drowning in mind, this game may have the most realistic portrayal of aquatic asphyxiation in any Creator/FoxEye game (even considering the updated version of ''VideoGame/NaticaStarSplash''; while the added voice actress did a good job of conveying Natica's underwater distress, Natica's actual drowning behavior [[NightmareRetardant was still rather exaggerated and cartoonish]]). A submerged character will periodically grunt and gurgle as she expends air, each time showing more and more panic. The first time, she will frown and her cheeks will noticeably puff out. The second time, her eyes will widen as fear sets in. The third time, she will shut her eyes tight and open her mouth as she struggles not to swallow water. If you're cruel enough to keep her submerged after that, she'll writhe and gurgle in panic as she slowly succumbs to asphyxiation. Oh, and she DiesWideOpen. Thus, leading to the page image. [[SarcasmMode Have fun!]]

Let's use Honomi as an example. When she first dives beneath, she is heard sucking in a huge gulp of air. As her oxygen dwindles, she will periodically grunt and gurgle as she tries to conserve whatever air she has left. Note that she never thrashes or flails wildly. She'll merely groan in discomfort as her lungs begin to demand air. When she's nearly out of air, her face will show visible strain, indicating that she ''desperately'' needs a breath. When her OxygenMeter is completely depleted, she'll finally writhe in panic as she gurgles her final moments before succumbing to asphyxiation. Oh, and she DiesWideOpen. [[SarcasmMode Have fun!]]

* At the start of the game, Honomi finds that Chie has gone diving without her, so she decides to dive in after. She finds that Chie has inexplicably trapped herself in a padlocked cage. To make matters worse, the tide is rising, and soon the cage will be underwater, with Chie still trapped inside. Chie sends Honomi to the train station to find the combination that she etched on the train station schedule, but by the time Honomi returns, Chie is already underwater and struggling to hold her breath. If one watches Chie closely, she will be seen holding her mouth and nose and will even fall limp if Honomi takes too long (this will happen when the timer is roughly halfway depleted, so Honomi still has time to save her). Not only that, but after Honomi has the cage unlocked, she still has to carry Chie through the Veins, an underwater cave. Thanks to the tide, Honomi can't even take Chie up to the surface for a breath until they're both safely back at the cove. (Granted, the mission automatically ends in success the moment the padlock is opened, so the player needn't worry). If the player is successful, Honomi will state that Chie swallowed a lot of water. She really was ''that'' close to losing her life.
