This was a month with some pretty big image changes, which included new images for TheDitz and AffablyEvil. But out of all of these changes, this one was certainly the best.
So, how do you go about making a story without an antagonist? Well, [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rod_2603.jpg the previous image]], which hailed from ''Film/RequiemForADream'', showed one way to play this trope, which was "man vs. self": the conflict between a man and his inner (metaphorical) demons, be they loneliness, depression, addiction or anything in between. But there are many more ways that this trope can be played, and that's where the new image succeeds: it is simply much better at showing the trope's full breadth.
This new pic originates from [[http://www.incidentalcomics.com/2014/05/conflict-in-literature.html a larger comic by Grant Snider]] and focuses on all types of conflict, whether they lack an antagonist or not, as well as their appropriate literary periods. It is through this that we see that this trope is much more common in modern and postmodern literature, as classic literature was much more likely to use BlackAndWhiteMorality. Some other ways a story can work without an antagonist include "man vs. reality", which tends to be told ThroughTheEyesOfMadness and feature a protagonist battling their own insanity, and "man vs. no god", where the protagonist faces a crisis of belief. Couple this with a quirky, newspaper-esque art style, and there was nothing to rival this pic as our Image of the Month.

This trope started making waves on November 3, so there's plenty of time to dive for some more.
* Even those south of the equator can suffer from the scorching summer heat, and they too are DreamingOfAWhiteChristmas. If a character desires to live in a climate either warmer or cooler than where they are right now, they may be a '''ThermalDissident'''. When this trope is in use, it can also affect the character's behavior and the way they dress in their current climate. It's so obscure that online reuploads are what mainly help the show from becoming completely lost. There are only 26 episodes, so what better page to contribute to on Christmas month than one of the most obscure Christmas-themed shows ever?
* ''Manga/MigiAndDali'' is a manga by Nami Sano (of ''Manga/HaventYouHeardImSakamoto'' fame) that was adapted into an anime, and her final work before passing away in August this year. The manga follows the titular twins, who get adopted by an elderly couple in order to investigate their mother's murder, with the two pretending to be one boy named "Hitori". The page was created back in October, so it could use more help, like Administrivia/{{crosswicking}}.

The games take place on three continents separated by a large gaping chasm named the Gagharv, with each game taking place on one of the continents. While not very well known, many elements of the trilogy would be later implemented in ''[=LoH=]'''s later installment, the ''VideoGame/TrailsSeries''. While there is an official translation of the UsefulNotes/PlayStationPortable ports by Creator/{{Bandai}}, they aren't highly regarded by fans. With both the announcement of a FanTranslation of the PC-98 version of ''The White Witch'' (aka ''Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch'') by The Geofront (the cool folks who made the ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsFromZeroAndTrailsToAzure Zero/Azure]]'' translation) and Falcom announcing a mobile port of all games with a localization, it's time for this page to be given some much needed cleaning, including fixing [[Administrivia/ZeroContextExample ZCEs]] and giving it a proper description.

The plot follows a pack of four wolves--Kiba, Hige, Toboe and Tsume--as they follow the scent of lunar flowers, which is prophesied to lead them to paradise. Eventually they meet Cheza, the flower maiden who will guide them there. Featuring beautiful animation, great action scenes, a well-developed EnsembleCast and a lot of {{Tear Jerk|er}}ing moments, the show's wintery theme makes it an ideal watch for this time of the year.
* ''Manga/BladeOfTheMoonPrincess'' was released in Japan from 2010 to 2012, but [[LateExportForYou is only just now being localized in English]]. It's written and illustrated by Creator/TatsuyaEndo of ''Manga/SpyXFamily'' fame, and was originally published in ''[[Magazine/ShonenJump Jump Square]]''. The story follows Princess Kaguya, the heir to the Lunar Empire, who is known as a stubborn, bratty, temperamental child -- not at all the type of person suited to take the throne some day. When a rogue branch of the family throws a coup, Kaguya is sent to Earth in order to keep the royal blade safe and learn to be a true queen. The second English volume is being released this month, so it's the perfect time to pick up the story and follow her adventure.
* ''Series/LasFierbinti'' is an ongoing Romanian series created by Mimi Brănescu and directed by Dragoș Buliga and Constantin Popescu. It premiered on Pro TV on the 1st of March, 2012. The series is set in a rural place in Fierbinti and mostly focuses on the day-to-day lives of the citizens, especially the mayor Vasile and the bar owner Bobiță. So, why not check it out if you are a fan of sitcoms?

This was a month with some pretty big image changes, which included new images for TheDitz and AffablyEvil. But out of all of these changes, this one was certainly the best.
So, how do you go about making a story without an antagonist? Well, [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rod_2603.jpg the previous image]], which hailed from ''Film/RequiemForADream'', showed one way to play this trope, which was "man vs. self": the conflict between a man and his inner (metaphorical) demons, be they loneliness, depression, addiction or anything in between. But there are many more ways that this trope can be played, and that's where the new image succeeds: it is simply much better at showing the trope's full breadth.
This new pic originates from [[http://www.incidentalcomics.com/2014/05/conflict-in-literature.html a larger comic by Grant Snider]] and focuses on all types of conflict, whether they lack an antagonist or not, as well as their appropriate literary periods. It is through this that we see that this trope is much more common in modern and postmodern literature, as classic literature was much more likely to use BlackAndWhiteMorality. Some other ways a story can work without an antagonist include "man vs. reality", which tends to be told ThroughTheEyesOfMadness and feature a protagonist battling their own insanity, and "man vs. no god", where the protagonist faces a crisis of belief. Couple this with a quirky, newspaper-esque art style, and there was nothing to rival this pic as our Image of the Month.
