On August 10, 2014, Earth was visited by a race of friendly aliens, pursued by another species, who turned our planet into a [[AlienInvasion giant battlefield]]. Humanity emerged victorious, but huge quantities of alien "[[GreenRocks Lambda energy]]" was released onto Earth in the conflict, [[MassSuperEmpoweringEvent giving some humans superpowers]] and turning animals into [[{{Kaiju}} giant monsters]]. To combat the emerging monsters and [[{{Supervillain}} humans who use their superpowers for evil]], humanity created the Earth Defense Force, which unites the precious few {{superhero}}es and scores of {{muggle}} support personnel to defend the planet for all manner of threats.

In the year 2075, two [[IncestSubtext very affectionate]] sisters, Miyuki and Yuri Kitajishi, run the EDF Counseling Service in the Japanese town of Kataoka, helpign superheroes and EDF employees alike deal with psychological strain of their line of work. In-between that, they help EDF in their battles against monsters and supervillains, which seem to be getting more and more frequent in the region. And on top of everything, Yuri is actually the ex-MagicalGirl Lily Cure--the greatest hero the world has ever seen, who lost most of her powers but can use them briefly in time of dire need, at a [[CastFromHitpoints heavy cost to her health]].

The energy the aliens weapons produced as a by product though had an unusual effect, it gives humans super powers and turns animals into [[{{Kaiju}} giant monsters.]]

With the rise of monsters and super villains, the Earth Defense Force was created. Gathering hero's and support personal they now work tirelessly to defend the earth from all manner of threat, but who helps the hero's with their more mundane problems? Enter the sisters Miyuki and Yuri Kitajishi, EDF Hero Consultation. These two overly loving sisters work with various hero's with their troubles be they small or large.

On top of everything Yuri was once the greatest hero in the world, a magical girl by the name of Lily Cure, and while most of her powers are gone she can still use them once in a while but at a heavy cost to her health.

''Gamma'' is an ActionAdventure manga with a ''lot'' of {{Yuri|Genre}} subplots by Ogino Jun.

* KnightsWhoSaySquee: Even post-retirement, Lily Cure serves as an inspiration for many heroes, including Mika and [[spoiler:Marina]]. Yuri herself is a huge {{Fangirl}} of HumongousMecha in general and Rock Rangers in particular.
