* Averted by most JamesBond movies. While he certainly does bed a lot of women in his nearly two dozen movies, the scene always cuts to something else before things get steamy. In fact, the only explicit sex scene ever shown in the movies is between Xenia and the Canadian Admiral in Goldeneye. But even then she's inexplicably fully clothed (to avoid an "R" rating most likely), and the scene is shown because it's plot-relevant: she murders him during the deed while an accomplice steals his ID.

That\'s not the same. Yes Bond has sex\' with a lot of women, but the movie always cuts to something else when it\'s obvious what Bond and the lady are about to do. It doesn\'t show uglies being bumped. * Happens all the time in JamesBond franchise. In fact, its an unspoken rule in most Bond movies that James will sleep with at least two different women. This often means any random scene with James and a women who isn't M or Moneypenny can end in sex whether it makes sense or not. Many of the women have displayed outright loathing or disgust for Bond before spontaneously sleeping with him at a random moment. In fact, the one movie that subverted this slightly, QuantumOfSolace, completely shocked the audience over it.

...But then, the narrative comes to a screeching halt, takes a sharp right-angle-turn and treats us to two of the characters having sex. Seriously, the scene comes so far out of left field that it's as if the script had said "And then, CoitusEnsues".

Basically, CoitusEnsues is a specific type of WallBanger that arises when sex in a story simply doesn't logically follow from the involved characters' prior interaction. Almost all of porn is based on this trope, so refrain from adding examples from pornographic works unless they are particularly TVTropesDrinkingGame egregious. All other examples are fair game, though remember that they are subjective.

...But then, the narrative comes to a screeching halt, takes a sharp right-angle-turn and treats us to two of the characters having sex. Seriously, Because apparently the scene comes so far out romantic subplot has not received a satisfactory conclusion as of left field yet, and what better way to clean up that loose end with an extended sex scene?

This trope is, at times, logical in the sense that given what we know about the characters in the story, yes, it makes some sense that they would have sex at this time. Where
it's as if the script had said "And then, CoitusEnsues".

Basically, CoitusEnsues
almost always illogical is a specific type of WallBanger that arises there's seldom any narrative purpose for a sex scene. Functionally, it does almost nothing to advance the plot, especially when sex in a story simply doesn't logically follow from compared with the involved characters' prior interaction. Almost far more efficient SexyDiscretionShot.

Unsurprisingly, this trope is the bedrock of nearly
all of porn pornography, since the whole point of pornography is based on that you eventually get to watch people have sex. Since it's an expectation of the genre, this trope, tends to be excusable. Less so refrain from adding examples from pornographic is when the trope pops up in PG-13 works unless they are particularly TVTropesDrinkingGame egregious. All other examples are fair game, though remember that they are subjective.
allegedly for the whole family. A viewer is often annoyed in these cases, since if he wanted to watch sex with grandma, he would have stopped by the adult video store on the way home from work.

* One appears in Film/Avatar after Jake has formally been inducted into the Navi tribe. Considering the ludicrous expense involved in making anything in this movie, many viewers were puzzled why it was necessary for them to watch several minutes of soft-core furry porn. The furries were more or less OK with this.
* Film/Watchmen has a very long, awkward scene of Dan and Laurie having sex. This was another case of "why did this have to be in the movie", as this was only dealt with briefly in the graphic novel, and the movie was already quite long even without it.

In fact, some threads are created with the sole goal of making the two (or more) characters involved have sex; at some point, the players will inevitably lose patience and think up some sudden excuse or trope to use to speed the process up.
