* ''Series/StarTrekVoyager'': B'Elanna, the ship's chief engineer, goes into labor as the series finale is starting.

* ''WebComic/Hominids'':
** Zona when she is in the middle of fighting Eetori and his goons. [[Spoiler:Just as she was having the upper hand, her water broke immediately after an earthquake.]].

* In ''Manga/BarefootGen'', Gen's mother Kimie goes into labor the day the atomic bomb falls on Hiroshima, after watching her husband and two of her children burn to death. Gen is the only one around so he has to help. [[spoiler: Sadly, baby Tomoko dies few afterwards as well.]]

* In the first episode of Tide-Line Blue, the stress of the attack on Yabitsu sends Isla into labor. Unfortunately, Keel is a SatisfiedStreetRat with ''no'' medical knowledge whatsoever, despite having a crush on her and hanging out with her regularly enough for her to tell him her due date - ''next'' month, so the baby is on the edge of premature. Luckily, Keel's twin brother Teen shows up, and he has all the necessary skills to safely deliver the baby. Catch is; ''he's one of the people attacking the city.''

* Happens during the GrandFinale of ''TheNewNormal'' with the surrogate mother Goldie going into labor with Bryan and David's son during their wedding.

* Double subverted in ''WebComic/KevinAndKell'', Lindesfarne's water breaks while she's being rescued from [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything the carnivore supremacy]] terrorist group N.O.P.E. (as evidenced by one terrorist being sopping wet from it breaking over his head). However, Lindesfarne doesn't realize she's in labor until ''after'' the terrorists are arrested and carted off, and after the adrenaline wears off. (In case you're wondering how she missed such a big clue, the terrorists were trying to drown her.) To make matters worse, she's a good distance from civilization, being a councilor at a summer camp, and the only one qualified to deliver babies is busy with other patients from the terrorist attack.

* Pema in ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'' is pregnant all through the first season with her and Tenzin's fourth child, and yet it waits to be born when the Equalists launch their full attack on the city and Air Temple Island.
