** To be fair to Barney, the number is probably much higher, if the rest of the series is even a bit reliable. The episode in question was about him reaching his 200-mark, just because he said he would to a bully when he was younger, because the bully said he [[BlatantLies slept with 100 women]]. Marshall proceded to do the math on this quota, from which the success rate followed. This is made even more jarring because the writers suddenly changed Barney's age at his first lay from 23 to 19 (If Barney is the same age as NeilPatrickHarris, and he's probably meant to be younger. Marshall gives him 16 years of sexual activity, and NPH was35 at the time of shooting the episode).

Oddly enough, this skill is never shown on screen. The reason for this is because, well, there's not really any plausible way to show this skill. Any such conversation is going to end up being a letdown to the audience because the woman must be either extremely stupid or extremely eager for sex to begin with for this to work. Both cases severely lessen the impact of a successful attempt. Better off for the audience to just guess what could have been said.
