This includes series like ''{{Ame-iro Kouchakan Kandan}}'', which is a SliceOfLife story about two women running a tea shop. Note that as of this writing, the series doesn't even have a kiss. Yes, that's right, two lesbians blushing, hugging each other and holding each other's hands are enough to be considered as "[[WallBanger sexual content]]".

* On Bing image search, you won't get any results for anything with the words "gay" or "lesbian" in it unless you turn SafeSearch off completely (which requires you to say you're 18). Good luck for anyone who wanted a picture of, say, a lesbian wedding! Or a gay pride symbol! [[WallBanger (So, say, a ''rainbow'' is now inappropriate for under-18s...)]]

* This Troper's local comic book store (Famous for creating TheTick) has two rows of Yaoi on the highest shelf, most of which have no sex, all have 18+ ratings next to them warning buyers and requiring an ID to buy. While comics like 30DaysOfNight and PunisherMax can be sold to almost any teen.

The tendency of MoralGuardians to be harsher toward homosexuality than heterosexuality. In American media, male/female couples can kiss and make out in G-rated movies, but even a slight peck from a same-sex couple is an automatic PG-13, if not an R. And of course, there's no way to include even a tame sex scene without getting an R or NC-17 rating. UnfortunateImplications of this become [[ValuesDissonance even more apparent]] as gay people become more accepted and equal in society.

* The English dub of ''TransformersEnergon'', while not really that great to begin with, made a hamhanded attempt to edit out Mirage/Shockfleet's obvious [[SubordinateExcuse love for his leader]]. Unfortunately for them they could only bring it down to HoYay levels, as there's no real way to rewrite a blossoming pink heart behind Mirage's transformation sequence after [[spoiler: discovering Megatron was still alive.]]

** However, many BoysLove series don't get this treatment, and the ones that do... they sort of need it, as many of them are fairly explicit.

* At one point on Craigslist, the "male seeking male" personals page was marked for adult content (meaning both that it was restricted and that racier posts needn't be flagged), whereas the straight and lesbian personals were kept clean, only the "causal encounters" page being marked. Presumably due to complaints, all personals but "strictly platonic" are now marked adult.

* You have to admit though, those fan fictions are generally pretty terrible.

* Canada Customs notoriously plays this trope for the whole country. In addition to hounding gay and lesbian bookstores into poverty by blocking everything from porn to innocuous [[HasTwoMommies Heather Has Two Mommies]] books from ever crossing the border, Canada Customs routinely blocks manga and anime with anything gay in it. One of the worst examples is CardcaptorSakura, where the justification was the LesYay among the underage.
