A joke where someone (usually TheHero or TheBigGuy) says an incorrect word and someone else (usually TheSmartGuy) corrects them. To show off how "hilariously" dumb he is, the writers will have the original speaker mistake the correction for a sneeze, even if it doesn't sound remotely like one, and say "gesundheit," as in the following hypothetical exchange:

Alternatively, it could just be a CloudCuckoolander, or somebody a bit naive, who truly ''doesn't'' recognize the word.

Sadly, not a DiscreditedTrope yet, despite overuse. It's usually played uncomfortably straight, as if the character ''really'' mistook a hard to pronounce word for sneezing. HilarityEnsues. If they ''really'' did misunderstand the word, then you have the trope being played straight, before it started moving towards being discredited. Occasionally, the trope will be [[InvokedTrope invoked]] by the first character, knowing he could count on the other character to correct him, [[StraightMan unwittingly helping him set up a cheap gag.]]

* ''WinnieThePooh'': The original book contains a dragged-out scene where Pooh mistakes one of Owl's long words for a sneeze and keeps saying "Gesundheit". That was actually the word "issue" (which actually sounds like a sneeze), making it this trope before it started on the road to discreditment.
** Repurposed for the 2011 film. The trailer for the 2011 film has a scene in which Owl says that they must "issue a reward." Pooh interrupts with "gesundheit," saying that Owl sneezed.
