** Played with in ''TabletopGame/DungeonsOfDrakkenheim''; the Old Faith fits the general ''archetype'' of a fantasy pantheon, having twelve distinct gods with distinct portfolios, natures and ambitions, but in-universe the followers of each god don't necessarily consider their gods to be connected at all. The term "the Old Faith" is used by a rival religion that now dominates the political landscape, the Church of the Sacred Flame. Which itself worships no gods, but instead devotes itself to a SentientCosmicForce it calls the Sacred Flame, the embodiment of light, hope and good. Shadow Cults, meanwhile, devote themselves to a range of cthonic patrons, ranging from malevolent entites of death and darkness to believers that the Sacred Flame has an equally important opposite they call the [[SacredDarkness Exalted Darkness]] -- the ''term'' "Shadow Cults" is used by the Sacred Flame's worshipers to lump them all together, as they universally dismiss them as DarkIsEvil.
