->''"Oh, did you hear that? That's the sound of a plot point dropping like a five hundred pound bomb!"''
-->--[[TheSpoonyExperiment The Spoony One]], in his ''{{Phantasmagoria}} 2'' review.

An piece of exposition meant to be weaved into conversation or everyday events, but is so {{Anvilicious}}ly placed that it risks breaking SuspensionOfDisbelief instead. The characters make small talk, and suddenly one of them says something so obviously meant to be for the audience to hear that it barely flows with the dialogue. At worst, it can derail things for a bit as other characters join in on the sudden exposition.

Something like:
->'''Alice''': "You know, this party is really something."
->'''Bob''': "M'yes, compliments to our host."
->'''Alice''': "Yes. You would never guess he has terminal cancer and only a year to live." ('''Plot point!''')

Can happen for many reasons. Perhaps the writers couldn't think of any other way to reveal the background so they just awkwardly dropped it into conversation. Maybe [[ViewersAreMorons they thought the audience wouldn't notice]]. On the other hand, maybe it was intentional, as a parody, or maybe you're playing a video game with [[HeKnowsAboutTimedHits an intentionally obvious tutorial]]. In any case, it's unexpectedly blatant, obvious, and at times borders on embarrassingly sloppy.
