* Pilgrimage: Parodied in the comic strip "The Cantabelis Tales", in which the Dwarfers find a spaceship whose passengers had all killed each other, and the ApocalypticLog (compiled in rhyming couplets by a pilgrim who just happens to be named Geoffrey Chaucer) reveals that they were on pilgrimage... but it turned out they were all of different religions and thought they were going to a different tomb. The final shot reveals that the ship's computer was taking them to the tomb of the God of Computers: Sir Clive Sinclair.

* AlternativeSpeciesCounterpart: One strip features a universe where the Cat's counterpart was instead an evolved dormouse. There is also the fact that Kryten's and Rimmer's counterparts in that universe are cyborgs rather than a RobotMaid (in Kryten's case) and a human/hologram (in Rimmer's case) respectively.

* BarFullOfAliens: Mr. Flibble encounters one such bar filled with what is presumably different species of [=GELF=]s whilst on a trip through space in one strip.

* Cyborg: One issue had a cyborg with a seething hatred for "deadies" come aboard the ship and hunt down Rimmer. He is then informed by Kryten that he has been dead for centuries, being largely kept active by his own cybernetic implants and sheer determination. He is heavily implied to have killed himself afterwards upon learning of this.

** "Ace of Black-Hearts" features an evil version of Ace who had been severely injured following a training flight, rebuilding himself with bionics using his increased wealth from making space drives which made the Space Corps obsolete.
