However, it soon becomes clear that both Wally and Artemis [[PairTheSpares actually like each other]], [[BelligerentSexualTension but won't admit it]]. Meanwhile Wally [[CasanovaWannabe also flirts with]] any other woman he meets, Artemis has a bit of ShipTease with her old friend [[AnIcePerson Icicle Jr.]], and fans interpret ''both'' of them as having sexual tension with [[TheSmartGuy Robin]], who likes ComicBook/{{Zatanna}}. Zatanna likes him back, but so does [[ChildhoodFriend Barbara Gordon]], who appears to be [[GreenEyedMonster jealous]] when she sees him with Artemis. Then Icicle Jr. starts flirting with M'gann while she's [[ShapeShifting disguised]] as [[DarkActionGirl Shimmer]].

* The "Mayhem of the Music Meister!" episode of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold'' features one of these. ComicBook/GreenArrow and TheMusicMeister both have their eyes on ComicBook/BlackCanary. Black Canary is all about Franchise/{{Batman}}. Batman loves [[MarriedToTheJob fighting crime]]. (Well, and ComicBook/{{Catwoman}}, but she wasn't in that episode.) Thankfully, Green Arrow and Black Canary, the most sane of these people, get together in the end.

* On ''WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan'', the dynamics of the Midtown High group are enormously complicated, but succinctly: [[BettyAndVeronica Gwen Stacy and Liz Allen]] both like [[Franchise/SpiderMan Peter Parker]]; Peter likes Gwen and Liz and ''also'' [[FunPersonified Mary Jane Watson]]; Mary Jane flirts with [[JerkJock Flash Thompson]] but comes to really like [[AntiVillain Mark Allen]], Liz's brother; Liz has lingering feelings for ex-boyfriend Flash, who finds MJ attractive but then focuses on [[AsianAndNerdy Sha Shan]]; Gwen dates [[GreenEyedMonster Harry Osborn]], who previously dated Glory Grant, who left him (somewhat inexplicably) for [[DumbMuscle Kenny Kong]], and I'm sure there are others in there.
** Peter ''also'' [[PrecociousCrush liked Betty Brant]], who turned him down and seems to have gotten together with [[IntrepidReporter Ned Lee]]. Also, [[DatingCatwoman Black Cat likes Peter]] (or [[LovesMyAlterEgo Spider-Man, at least]]), giving him a total of ''five'' {{Love Interest}}s. Also, [[RivalTurnedEvil Eddie Brock]] had a "just friends" date with Gwen and then tried to date Mary Jane just to screw with Peter, but his real true love is the symbiote (who prefers Peter--ooh, that's six!). And if we take comic canon into account, Harry and Liz [[PairTheSpares would have probably started dating]] at some point. Confused yet?
* ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManTheAnimatedSeries'' also had one -- For a while, Mary Jane and Felicia were both chasing Peter, Felicia doing so despite the fact that she was dating Flash at the time and also dated Jason Macandale (AKA Hobgoblin) for a while. Also, Harry had an unrequited crush on MJ, which later drove him to become the Green Goblin. Eventually, however, it worked itself out -- Felicia ended up with Morbius, Flash somehow ended up with Debra, and Peter got MJ.

* ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' develops this by the end of ''World Tour''. Originally in ''Island'', [[PerkyGoth Gwen]] was with [[ChickMagnet Trent]]. Trent's friend [[DoggedNiceGuy Cody]] also liked her, but [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy decided to help them hook up]] instead. Eventually Gwen and Trent broke up in ''Action'', though, partially because Trent thought that Gwen had [[FanPreferredCouple an attraction to]] [[TroubledButCute Duncan]], who was dating [[WellExcuseMePrincess Courtney]] (whom [[{{Narcissist}} Justin]] had a brief attraction to; and Justin himself is fawned over by [[HeterosexualLifePartners Katie and Sadie]], with all the other girls having also fawned over him at least once, even [[ActionGirl Eva]], plus he gets EvenTheGuysWantHim, which extends even to animals). * Jimmy from ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfJimmyNeutronBoyGenius'' has his original love interest, Betty Quinlin, who seemed to have an "aw, he's cute, but it'll never happen" attitude toward him. There's [[OfficialCouple Cindy]]. He falls for a pretty girl at the rodeo (along with Sheen and Carl, who battle with him for her affections). In "Win Lose Kaboom", he gets in a brief relationship with a GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe named April, much to his main love interest's dismay.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'': Bolin likes TheHero Korra [[LoveAtFirstSight at first sight]], who likes Bolin's TallDarkAndSnarky older brother Mako, who [[LoveAtFirstSight fell hard for]] and is dating UptownGirl Asami but also discovers he himself has some feelings for Korra. Not to mention Meelo and his [[PrecociousCrush kiddy crush on Asami]]. The first three comprise a [[FictionalSport pro-bending]] team, which Asami, as a pro-bending {{Fangirl}} and Mako's girlfriend, has talked her [[UnclePennybags wealthy father]] into sponsoring in the local {{Tournament| Arc}}. Not surprisingly, the quadrangle causes both personal and professional trouble when Korra decides to make a move on Mako, and is witnessed by Bolin, who is devastated. This appears to have been resolved by the end of Book One, with Mako and Asami breaking up, Mako and Korra falling in love, and Bolin getting over his crush. As of Book 3, neither Korra nor Asami is with Mako. Both girls are now better friends who bond over their shared crush and [[NoSocialSkills Mako's awkwardness]] around them both, and book 4 fully resolves the entire situation with Asami and Korra as the endgame OfficialCouple.
