* "Bedfellows" has self-centered family patriarch Jules Copeland, who places his one adult son on a pedestal and ignores/dismisses the other. When the former son is murdered, he jumps through hoops to prove his accused brother's innocence and cares nothing about his remaining son or his futile attempts of earning his love abd approval since the deceased one was seen as the "worthy" heir. More upsetting is how he's later seen treating his young ''grandsons'' (one from each son) the same exact way. After the other son is killed himself by the end of the episode, he still remains distant, even though the man's jealousy and desperation drove him to kill his brother, and is so traumatized and overwhelmed with his grieving that he cries out "I've lost my son!" to the point that a frustrated Goren had to remind him "You had ''two'' sons".

* The mother from "The Saint", Betty Bennett, initially appeared to be taken advantage of by her church and that they are exploiting her pre-existing mental illness by giving copious donations to them includingher money and all of her worldly possessions, to the anger and frustration of her vengeful son. However, in addition to willingly believing that it will guarantee her place in Heaven and her outburst of seemingly being proud of giving away her son's belongings and her knowledge of him not standing up to her to make her stop or caring about what it did to him, you can't hold too much sympathy for the woman.
* Joanne Dexler from "Beast" [[ParentalFavoritism still grieves her dead daughter while dismissing and criticizing her living one.]] To wit, while an up and coming dentist asked the one daughter, Colleen, for a date, when meeting her mother, she pushed her other daughter, Morgan, who was already into pageantry and modeling, to date him instead, in spite of her cheating on him. This caused him to murder Morgan, have Colleen remain obsessed with him years later, and murder his wife in the present day to have him for herself, all while Joanne continues to chide Colleen for being a lovesick loser.
* Paul Whitlock from "Magnificat" may not be your typical abuser, but his nastiness is still visible. Having no sympathy for his stressed out, lonely, and browbeaten wife, he isolates her while repeatedly impregnating her and ignore her dire mental health issues, citing how the only "therapy" she needs is to be a devoted wife and good mother. When she attempts a MurderSuicide of herself and her sons, killing three out of four of them, he still dismisses her cries for help and [[NeverMyFault tries to paint her as a monster who committed the crimes without any mitigating factors or any responsibility on his part.]]
* Graham and Dr. Eloise Barnes of "Shrink-Wrapped" are an InsufferableGenius couple who wanted to appear to have the perfect life with their daughter Camilla, but their dysfunctions are ever present. They may sure that Camilla had the perfect life, but couldn't be bothered to take an interest in her life and were more absorbed with his teaching career and her affair with a college classmate of hers. Even when it's discovered that she killed the man to gain their attention, they're more angry at her for ruining their image than blaming either the other for their neglect or themselves for not being a better parent to her.

* Judge Harold Garrett from "In The Wee Small Hours (Part 2)" uses his [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney family's wealth]] and [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections powerful position]] to help his narcissistic playboy son weasel out of being a suspect in the disappearance and murder of a teenage girl with whom he had a dalliance. He repeatedly uses both to stymie the investigation and when he learns that his estranged wife is working with them and is able to convince her son to do so as well, he lashes out at them and threatens to disown them. Even when it comes out that the wife was the actual killer of the girl, none of this takes away from the fact that he's still an angry and ManipulativeBastard who is likely to continue his criminal ways.

The second ''Franchise/LawAndOrder'' spin-off has its fair share of jerks that fare just as bad if not worse than the actual villain of the episode. Unsurprisingly, many of them are parents or other family members of the killers and are unlikely to be legally responsible of anything.

She constantly [[ObnoxiousInLaws berates her daughter-in-law for her past as a stripper and waitress, being an undeserving wife to her precious son, and being a lousy mother to her grandson,]] who is the apple of her eye.
