* Anytime Kotetsu refers to Barnaby as a bunny, it's meant to be teasing and derisive, but considering that Barnaby lacks anything in common with a rabbit, and is the ''only'' one to refer to him as such, it seems more like he's just coming up with a way to call Barnaby cute.

* Episode 5 is basically a YaoiFangirl's fantasy come true -- beginning with Barnaby complaining about Kotetsu asking him if he's eating enough, Kotetsu planning a special birthday party for Barnaby because he think he's lonely [[http://pics.livejournal.com/halcyonjazz/pic/0017yg1x and then suggesting that he should be the birthday present.]]
* Episode 8 has quite a bit, what with Kotetsu [[spoiler: grabbing Barnaby's hand and TakingTheBullet for him]].

]] He even gives the VillainOfTheWeek to Barnaby so he could earn the points, only for the latter to misconstrue it as him handing over the ''diamond'' that he mentioned he wanted earlier in the episode. Despite claiming he doesn't care, it's pointed out he's ''smiling'' at the gesture.

* Season 2 gives an all new pair in the form of Mr.Black and He is Thomas who are explicitely called very similar to Kotetsu and Barnaby. Considering how long their Ho Yay section, you can imagine how their relationship works out.
** Notably they start out having an even worse relationship than them, refusing to coorperate and seeing each other as competition even when they're supposed to be partners. After Black learns Thomas' backstory he gets a lot nicer and wants to support him with Thomas initially rebuffing him but also gradually warming up to him as well. [[spoiler: By episode 13 Black risks his life to protect him and Thomas shyly thanks him later.]]

* Season 2 brings in a new ship in the form of Dragon Kid and her new buddy Magical Cat. Kid is very protective of Cat even though they only just partnered up and Cat in turn is shown admiring and blushing at Kid from time to time.

** One of the running gags of season 2 is that Barnaby and Kotetsu want to go out for drinks and dinner together but something always coming up whenever they try.

* The second season starts out strong, too, even with the decade since the last season. It starts with the new Buddy system being introduced and all the other teams outshining Barnaby and Kotetsu because the latter was too slow to arrive at the scene. They are later heard arguing but it turns out Barnaby wasn't angry about not getting any points but because Kotetsu drank his energy juice he's been saving and proceeds to not talk to him for the rest of the episode like a petty spouse. This continues until they have to apprehend a criminal where they coordinate their attack without talking to each other, showing just how strong their bond has become since the beginning of season 1. It even ends with Barnaby finally forgiving Kotetsu for the energy drink with a smile.
** In episode 3 Ryan thinks Kotetsu and Blue Rose are planning to team up together and leave their old partners behind and promptly tells Barnaby about it. Barnaby repeats his unwavering trust in Kotetsu but the entire episode is framed like Kotetsu is cheating on him with a younger woman.

Kotetsu also set up his intended meeting with Barnaby in a way that could not have possibly looked more like it was intended to be a date; he had a wine at the ready and everything.
