* In-joke for German ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' fans: In "The Party", Thaddeus Plotz (whose name in the dub is spelled with an a and umlaut, so it's really ''Thaddäus'' Plotz) is reading the invitation from the Warners, who suddenly pop up behind him without warning, and Plotz tells him not to do that. Yakko tells him to blame the writers, and we see Paul Rugg (voiced by Eberhard Prüter), laughing at the idea of the Warners being right behind him. In short, Thaddäus Plotz got screwed around by Thaddäus Tentakel.
* The reference that the Warners make to ''Film/TheMask'' while hiding from their fans in "A Hard Day's Warners" gets even funnier when you remember that [[Creator/RobPaulsen Yakko]] voices the title character in [[WesternAnimation/TheMask the animated series]].

* Creator/JessHarnell voicing Chandler in the ''Series/{{Friends}}'' parody. Wakko's Japanese voice actor, Yu Mizushima, voiced Chandler.
* Another ''Friends'' one. Dot has a RunningGag where her name is really Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the Third. Season 10 of ''Friends'' would have Phoebe legally change her name to Princess Consuela Banana Hammock. But her friends can call her Valerie.

** Expanding on that is Nickelwise, the parody of Pennywise, is voiced by Peter Stormare who was in ''Film/{{Fargo}}''...which Dot and Yakko parodied in "Hooray for North Hollywood, Part 2."

* In "Hot, Bothered and Bedeviled", Creator/RonPerlman voiced the Devil. Years later, he'd be ''{{Film/Hellboy|2004}}''.
* "Hot, Bothered, and Bedeviled" began with a Saddam Hussein-esque dictator of Iraq getting dropped through a trap door into Hell. The RealLife version of this near the very end of 2006 would add a noose, but the principle's the same. Plus, 6 years later ''WesternAnimation/SouthParkBiggerLongerAndUncut'' would depict Saddam in a tumultuous romantic relationship with Satan himself.

* Any of the jabs against Disney would become this in 2020, [[WesternAnimation/Animaniacs2020 the Animaniacs reboot]] would come to Creator/{{Hulu}}, which Disney owns.

* In "One Flew Over The Cuckoo Clock", Slappy, driven crazy after too many talk shows, mentions that it's "Time for Montel and Phil on the Oprah Channel". Several years later, there really ''is'' [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oprah_Winfrey_Network_(U.S._TV_channel) an Oprah Channel]]! And ''Dr. Phil'' really does air on the network as well! (Though the Phil she was referring to was Creator/PhilDonahue, not Phil [=MacGraw=])
* In a ''Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries'' spoof, Spork attempts a Vorkan Mind meld on Wakko, ending in Spork clutching his head, disoriented. He walks away, runs into Uhura and hits on her, saying "Helloo, Nurse!" [[Film/StarTrek2009 Looks like J.J. Abrams was watching the show]].

* In "Meatballs or Consequences" the Warners, a trio of children, torture the Grim Reaper. A decade later, [[WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresofBillyAndMandy a cartoon came out with a similar premise about the Grim Reaper being tormented by some children]]. For extra hilarity, this Grim Reaper also has an accent (Swedish, in this case).

* "The Presidents Song" ended with then-current President UsefulNotes/BillClinton, but joked that his wife UsefulNotes/{{Hillary|RodhamClinton}} was the real power behind the throne by listing him as "the Clintons, Bill and Hillary" or "Clinton, first name Hillary". Since 2008, Hillary has run for president multiple times.

* Tress [=MacNeille=] voices the Queen of Hearts in the show's ''WesternAnimation/AliceInWonderland'' parody, "Mindy in Wonderland". Later, Tress would become the voice of Disney's version of the Queen of Hearts starting with the 1999 video game ''VideoGame/DisneyVillainsRevenge''.

* Wakko's line: "A clown is my friend. A clown is not a big spider. A clown will not bite me and throw me in the basement," was an obvious allusion to Literature/{{It}} at the time, but it's become even funnier with the first season of [[WesternAnimation/Animaniacs2020 the revival]], which actually parodied [[Film/It2017 the more recent film adaptation in one sketch.]]

* In the Goodfeathers segments, Creator/MauriceLaMarche plays a MumblingBrando mafia boss, the Godpigeon. Two decades later, in ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'', he plays another iconic Godfather expy, Mr. Big the shrew.

Creator/DonBluth would [[WesternAnimation/{{Anastasia}} bring the good duchess back into popular consciousness]] just a few years later.
