* Ryumon reveals that his motivation for being a GUTS Select member stems from him being saved by a TPU member during a monster attack when he was a child. The event inspired him so much that he takes his job seriously, since lives are on the line and he can't afford to mess up.

* Yuna greets Kengo with a big hug, clearly happy to see her old friend after a year of being cut off from contact with him and the other GUTS Select members. She even tells him about how hard she's had to suppress her emotions to work as the Chairman of her father's company and is relieved to finally loosen up with Kengo.

* The members of GUTS Select are very understanding of Sawa's wishes to create co-existence with kaiju and never once show less appreciation for her over her sympathy for the creatures they usually destroy. This serves later to contrast what her former mentor, Maki, thought of Sawa.

* When Ichika expresses how unfair it is that Kanata had to fight alone as Decker and couldn't confide in his teammates, he reassures her that he never felt alone in his fight for the Earth, as he always had GUTS Select by his side even if they didn't know his true identity.

* After Dyna and Decker defeat Sphere-Geomos, the former encourages the latter by saying that no one knows what will happen in the future, in response to Kanata's earlier HeroicBSOD over Agams' claim that humanity will lead the Spheres to Planet Bazdo. The two then give each other a thumbs-up as Dyna leaves.

* This episode's MonsterOfTheWeek is Gomess, the first ''Ultra Series'' kaiju which was originally modified from a Franchise/{{Godzilla}} costume, and its rampage in Komie City recreates many scenes from ''Film/Godzilla1954''. Considering the episode aired two days after the 68th anniversary of ''Godzilla (1954)'', it makes this episode seem like Creator/TsuburayaProductions' birthday gift for Creator/EijiTsuburaya's other most famous creation.

* When Kanata's HeroicBSOD from Agams' betrayal prevents him from capturing Spinnie, Ryumon requests to have him removed from the operation, but cites his fear that Kanata would get hurt by Spinnie as the reason instead of focusing on Kanata's uselessness at the moment.
* Ryumon implores Kanata to ask for help from him and Kirino when he needs it, since he recognises the issue Kanata's dealing with is too big for him to handle on his own. It's especially significant coming from a perfectionist like him, and his offer to help share the burden is enough for Kanata to snap out of it and continue the mission.

* It's revealed that Murahoshi was the one who saved Ryumon when he was a kid, even protecting him from Hudram at the cost of disobeying orders and letting the Dark Giant get away. As such, when Nigel investigates Murahoshi for his unauthorised actions, Ryumon repays the favour by acting as a witness to clear his name.

* The members of GUTS Select are very understanding of Sawa's wishes to create co-existence with kaiju and never once show less appreciation for her over her sympathy for the creatures they usually destroy. This serves later to contrast what her former mentor, Maki, thought of Sawa.
* Despite her own sympathy for kaiju and understanding that a lot of their rampages are indirectly or directly caused by humans, Sawa does not show herself thinking HumansAreBastards, instead merely musing how some developments are necessary but will bring consequences, showing she considers all sides in the equation as opposed to having bias for either.
* When Decker winds up in danger from Neomegas after Sawa destroys its power dampener and controller, Hanejiro rushes in with the GUTS Hawk to save him, even screaming Kanata's name as he rushes to save the day.

[[folder:Episode 9: Standing Tall for Someone Special]]
* Grace rips up the photo Mika took of Kanata and admonishes her for blackmailing Kanata into challenging him, before apologising to Kanata for troubling him.
* Grace shows his heroism by growing giant to save his daughter and the civilians from a rampaging Red King, which the civilians return in kind by chanting his name to cheer him on. He even gets a rise scene not unlike an Ultraman, as if the narrative itself acknowledges he has the heart of one.
* Captain Murahoshi agrees to have a match with Grace after hearing about Mika's wish for her father to regain his honour as a martial artist.
* When Kanata and Murahoshi finds out Grace and Mika are living in poverty and have to resort to eating bread crumbs, they visit them and cook them dinner.
* Grace attempts a HeroicSacrifice and restrains Sphere Red King for Murahoshi to shoot the kaiju down, but Decker summons all the Dimension Card Monsters to pull him away from Sphere Red King before it explodes, saving his life.

* When Kengo gets ready to leave to continue defending the Mars Colony, Carmeara opts to go with him and even shows the spirits of Darrgon and Hudram, clearly intending on reviving them. After all that Darrgon endured it can be really touching to see Carmeara give him hope for a happy ending, even Hudram being there is kind of heartwarming despite him being a CompleteMonster, as it shows Carmeara has some degree of care for him now.
