In a show with a bleaker set-up than many past Ultra Series installments, it does not hesitate to have several moments that will warm your heart.

WARNING: All spoilers are unmarked.

Episode 1: Day of the Attack
  • Kanata's attempt to save a woman from rubble showcases his huge heart from the get-go and serves as the proof of his heroism and worthiness of being Decker's host.

Episode 5: Glutton of the Lake
  • Yuko and Elly's bond in general is pretty wholesome, with a lot of adorable moments like Elly copying Yuko's movements even as a giant kaiju.
  • Ichika does not hesitate to help Alien Pitt Yuko when she explains her situation to her, and goes as far as lying to her teammates out of fear that they could harm Elly, luckily even when she's caught they're able to cooperate to try and help the starving Eleking.
  • At the end Elly gets to live after Decker spares and de-ages him back to a tadpole and with Sawa's support, Yuko gets ready to raise her baby Eleking right this time.

Episode 6: Subterranean Monster Appears! And Appears!
  • Ryumon reveals that his motivation for being a GUTS-Select member stems from him being saved by a TPU member during a monster attack when he was a child. The event inspired him so much that he takes his job seriously, since lives are on the line and he can't afford to mess up.
  • Kanata and Ryumon reach some level of understanding with each other by the end of the episode, with the former genuinely complimenting the latter's skill and competence. While it's still a stretch to call them friends, it's nice to see that their relationship with each other has improved.

Episode 7: The Light of Hope from the Red Planet
  • Kengo still feels guilty about not saving Carmeara and mentions his wish that he had been able to make her smile.

Episode 8: Light and Darkness, Again
  • Yuna greets Kengo with a big hug, clearly happy to see her old friend after a year of being cut off from contact with him and the other GUTS-Select members. She even tells him about how hard she's had to suppress her emotions to work as the Chairman of her father's company and is relieved to finally loosen up with Kengo.
  • Yuna comforts Kengo when he is distraught over realizing his beloved plant, R'lyeh is the same species as the plant Gijeran which threatens Earth. She assures him that R'lyeh is not evil and is unlike the other bigger Gijeran and encourages him to do the right thing.
  • Trigger successfully saves Carmeara like he couldn't do before! Even better is her Heel–Face Turn, which she shows by repeating her statement about finding the light warm and realizing Kengo/Trigger never really rejected the darkness, she even shares a tender moment with Kengo upon being freed from Megalothor.
  • Without doubting it one bit, Carmeara joins Trigger and Decker in vanquishing Megalothor forever.
  • When Kengo gets ready to leave to continue defending the Mars Colony, Carmeara opts to go with him and even shows the spirits of Darrgon and Hudram, clearly intending on reviving them. After all that Darrgon endured it can be really touching to see Carmeara give him hope for a happy ending, even Hudram being there is kind of heartwarming despite him being the nastiest among the three, as it shows Carmeara has some degree of care for him now.

Episode 9: Standing Tall for Someone Special
  • Grace rips up the photo Mika took of Kanata and admonishes her for blackmailing Kanata into challenging him, before apologising to Kanata for troubling him.
  • Grace shows his heroism by growing giant to save his daughter and the civilians from a rampaging Red King, which the civilians return in kind by chanting his name to cheer him on. He even gets a rise scene not unlike an Ultraman, as if the narrative itself acknowledges he has the heart of one.
  • Captain Murahoshi agrees to have a match with Grace after hearing about Mika's wish for her father to regain his honour as a martial artist.
  • When Kanata and Murahoshi finds out Grace and Mika are living in poverty and have to resort to eating bread crumbs, they visit them and cook them dinner.
  • Grace attempts a Heroic Sacrifice and restrains Sphere Red King for Murahoshi to shoot the kaiju down, but Decker summons all the Dimension Card Monsters to pull him away from Sphere Red King before it explodes, saving his life.

    Episode 10: Man and Monster
  • The members of GUTS-Select are very understanding of Sawa's wishes to create co-existence with kaiju and never once show less appreciation for her over her sympathy for the creatures they usually destroy. This serves later to contrast what her former mentor, Maki, thought of Sawa.
  • Despite her own sympathy for kaiju and understanding that a lot of their rampages are indirectly or directly caused by humans, Sawa does not show herself thinking Humans Are Bastards, instead merely musing how some developments are necessary but will bring consequences, showing she considers all sides in the equation as opposed to having bias for either.
  • When Decker winds up in danger from Neomegas after Sawa destroys its power dampener and controller, Hanejiro rushes in with the GUTS Hawk to save him, even screaming Kanata's name as he rushes to save the day.

    Episode 11: Machine-god Deployed
  • When Decker gets overwhelmed by the Hinabasser flock, Asakage tells Ryumon to go save the Ultra instead of escorting him. Ryumon complies and guns down a Hinabasser who had pinned down Decker, before extending a hand to help Decker up.

Episode 16: Stay As You Are
  • When Kanata's Heroic BSoD from Agams' betrayal prevents him from capturing Spinnie, Ryumon requests to have him removed from the operation, but cites his fear that Kanata would get hurt by Spinnie as the reason instead of focusing on Kanata's uselessness at the moment.
  • Ryumon implores Kanata to ask for help from him and Kirino when he needs it, since he recognises the issue Kanata's dealing with is too big for him to handle on his own. It's especially significant coming from a perfectionist like him, and his offer to help share the burden is enough for Kanata to snap out of it and continue the mission.

Episode 17: Investigation From the Past
  • This episode's Monster of the Week is Gomess, the first Ultra Series kaiju which was originally modified from a Godzilla costume, and its rampage in Komie City recreates many scenes from Godzilla (1954). Considering the episode aired two days after the 68th anniversary of Godzilla (1954), it makes this episode seem like Tsuburaya Productions' birthday gift for Eiji Tsuburaya's other most famous creation.
  • It's revealed that Murahoshi was the one who saved Ryumon when he was a kid, even protecting him from Hudram at the cost of disobeying orders and letting the Dark Giant get away. As such, when Nigel investigates Murahoshi for his unauthorised actions, Ryumon repays the favour by acting as a witness to clear his name.

Episode 21: The Price of Prosperity
  • After Dyna and Decker defeat Sphere-Geomos, the former encourages the latter by saying that no one knows what will happen in the future, in response to Kanata's earlier Heroic BSoD over Agams' claim that humanity will lead the Spheres to Planet Bazdo. The two then give each other a thumbs-up as Dyna leaves.

Episode 25: The Light Far Beyond
  • When Ichika expresses how unfair it is that Kanata had to fight alone as Decker and couldn't confide in his teammates, he reassures her that he never felt alone in his fight for the Earth, as he always had GUTS-Select by his side even if they didn't know his true identity.
  • Before moving out for the final operation, Kanata, Ryumon and Ichika share a thumbs-up, a testament to how far they've come since the start of the series.
  • Once the Spheres have finally been defeated and Earth is no longer sealed, flocks of spaceships return to Earth to reconnect with their loved ones after over a year of isolation.
