** The DS version also shows Silver and Blaz reuniting for the first time (barring the presumably non-canon [[VideoGame/MarioAndSonicAtTheOlympicGames encounter in Vancouver]]) and gaining a sense of familiarity. It's nice to know the CosmicRetcon didn't erase their friendship.

* The DS version contains one extra boss past the Nega-Wisp Armor. Eggman's meddling has caused a giant Wisp to go mad, and it's up to Super Sonic to calm it down. After a careful bout to get rid of the negative energy corrupting it, it turns into the ''Mother Wisp'', the far more gentle matriarch of the Wisp species, and thanks Sonic for his help.

He doesn't drops his arm at all during the entire scene, even when he and Eggman are exchanging witty banter. It's a small detail, but it's very heartwarming.

** For that matter, much of Sonic and Tails' interactions in this game - with all the emphasis on heroics and believing in themselves in their characters taking precedent for so long, it's nice to see a game where even while saving the day the two aren't so intense, palling around and acting like brothers.
