Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

** After defeating King and Specter Knight, Plague Knight returns to his hideout and finds Mona dancing alone... His awkward reactions and answers when Mona tells she has no one to dance with sells the whole thing. The heartwarming goes UpToEleven in the ending, showing Plague Knight waltzing with Mona using the skills he leaned from the Troupple King.

* The first phase of the final boss is the titular Plague of Shadows, a dark reflection of Plague Knight's own insecurities made manifest by the Ultimate Potion. While conquering it on its own is proof of Plague Knight's resilience, the heartwarming comes from fighting the urge to attack it and letting it bounce around. This reveals that the Plague of Shadows is indeed a part of Plague Knight's own mind, and represents the things he wants to be and despises about himself, as it proceeds to realize you're not attacking, and concedes that Plague Knight finally understands that he doesn't need to be anything other than himself for Mona to love him.
--->'''The Plague of Shadows:''' You are steadfast in your resolve... maybe there's hope for us yet.

* Whether you fight him on the Flying Machine or in the Tower of Fate, it is clear that Propeller Knight bears no ill will towards Shovel Knight. In fact, he has a lot of fun battling Shovel Knight, and would love to join him on one of his adventures.

* During the ending, the Troupple King dances for joy now that the Order is defeated. This becomes more heartwarming after ''King of Cards'', where the ending reveals he's actually ''hiding'' in the Troupple Pond, to keep himself and his subjects safe from the Enchantress. He's dancing for joy because he can finally go home!

** Related to the above, Mr. Hat's final encounter with The Baz before the final boss is particularly notable, considering in their last interaction he [[BerserkButton was majorly pissed at The Baz for stealing from his shop]]. [[spoiler:Even after The Baz beat the hell out of him, he states that he'll waive The Baz's debt if he helps clean up the shop, and even offers to team up with him against the Mirror of Fate. He even ''calls The Baz "friend".'' Sure, The Baz refuses and proceeds to beat him up again, but it's still a sweet gesture - and depending on how you want to interpret it, [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation The Baz may have changed his mind and gone to help Mr. Hat anyway after destroying the mirror]]]].

* During the ending, all the main [=NPCs=] flee the Tower of Fate upon seeing Specter Knight emerge with Reize in his arms, flying towards the exit. Not heartwarming on it's own until you remember that upon collecting all the red skulls, Red revealed that he could tell that Specter Knight was going to betray the Enchantress and told him to be careful. It's likely ''all'' the [=NPCs=] realized this and fled once they realized Specter Knight had failed to stop he], despite having nothing to fear from it themselves. Their loyalty as friends to Specter Knight was stronger than any loyalty they had to the Enchantress.
