* From the episode "Guilty", after a genuine WhamEpisode of drama, it ends on a sweet note, as Lynette, who earlier in the episode had a fever dream/hallucination in the midst of her prescription pill addiction of Mary Alice handing her a gun to kill herself. Instead after reassuring words from Susan and Bree of the shared anxieties of motherhood, Lynette has a dream of her playing with her children in the park with Mary Alice now smiling proudly at her for overcoming her demons, with Lynette happily showing off Penny to her friend.
-->'''Mary Alice''': There are those who pray for forgiveness for their transgressions. Sometimes...their prayer's are answered.

Added DiffLines:

* When Lynette sees her son's friend, whom she just invited, be verbally abused by his angry alcoholic mother, she jumps to his defence in traditional Lynette fashion. The mother snaps back, arguing that Lynette just sees her son as a project and feels smug about inviting him and giving him dinner from time to time. Lynette takes her words to heart. Later in the episode, she comes see Edie and proposes he move in with her family to escape his abusive home life. The scene is awash with MoodWhiplash for typical Desperate Housewives reasons, but it's very sweet.

* Again doubling with TearJerker, in 'Welcome to Kanagawa' when the Scavos are [[spoiler: pulled out of the rubble]] and [[spoiler: Ida Greenberg]] is nowhere to be found, Edie reaches out with a silent gesture of friendship as she slips her hand into Karen's moments after biting her head off.

* In Season 8, Gabby is trying to keep Carlos' boss from finding out Carlos is drunk. He does but rather than be upset, he shows his sober chip, revealing he's been in AA for years. He tells Carlos he knows exactly what he's going through and is giving the same chance someone once gave the boss by letting him get himself cleaned up rather than just fire him and make it worse.
