** A large amount of it was surprise they weren’t expecting the bridal party to fight back, nor were Anton and Claudius expecting them to escape and to interrupt their attempt to kill Liam. The surprise was enough to catch them off guard and allow the heroes to press their advantage. Also Maxwell stayed he did have a little self-defense training as a kid being a noble son though definitely not to the degree Liam did being a prince, and Drake idolized the royal guard and spent a lot of time around Liam so he likely picked up quite a few tricks.
