Harold Gribble spends most of the series trying to get the Twists out of the lighthouse, yet the sign outside in the very first episode indicates that he was the one who sold it to Tony in the first place. Why did he give up the land if he wants it that much?

** Given his greedy nature, its possible he was attempting fraud by selling the lighthouse then finding a legal means to reaccuire it cheaper or free, allowing him to make money coming and going. Since he and the rest of the family are not all that bright, Gribble most likely thought it was a genius move.
