** The foreshadowing would have been nice, but it also would have benefited if they portrayed the river rescue as more intense than what it was. The river didn't even appear to be flowing, Oliver was only ten feet away from the grass and just didn't know how to swim somehow. If she'd needed to rush into very rapidly-moving water, then dive down to get him, that would have been reasonable. But the excitement and exertion it would need to carry a small child about ten feet away through the water doesnt' seem enough to kill someone.

** I think it's explained she has a frail body and that swimming to rescue Oliver was too much stress for her body to handle, considering you find out she actually is Alicia later on within the game, perhaps all that magic and that encounter with Shadar put incredible stress that affected her body physically.
