** Post-Crisis, the closest thing Krypto has to a secret identity is when Superman decides to let him live with Jimmy Olsen, who gives him the name "Pal". It doesn't come up much these days because it's generally assumed that Krypto spends most of his time when he's not out being a Superdog either living in the Fortress of Solitude and being tended to by Superman robots or living with the Kents in Smallville (assuming they're around), where secret identities wouldn't be necessary.

** It doesn't come up in the movie, but pre-Crisis Clark called Krypto "Skip" in civilian mode (he also had a wood-stain spot on his back which he could burn off with his heat vision when needed)

** Interesting fact: in the comics SpeaksFluentAnimal is actually one of Wonder Woman's powers (it's never confirmed that she has it in the movie, but it's technically never exactly denied either)

* Obviously it's believable that most people wouldn't recognize him as the same dog, as the human eye is inherently face blind to animals. But does Clark call him by some other name when they're not in costume? Or does nobody find it suspicious that Clark Kent and Superman both have dogs with the same name?

** While Superman can certainly hear the animals, he doesn't get a UniversalTranslator ability in most continuity. To him, he's just hearing regular animal noises. That's without even considering a non-vocal element to the communication, such as scent.
** The movie occasionally switches from "animal talking" to "what humans are hearing", especially as the villain's monologue is replaced by adorable squeaking.
*** Yes, CaptainObvious. Superman isn't human, and it is implied that the ''reason'' the animals can hear each other speak English is because they have sharper ears than humans. It's not like ''WesternAnimation/BrotherBear'' or ''WesternAnimation/ThePrincessAndTheFrog'' where there's a curse that prevents humans from being able to hear animals speak English.
*** I never saw any such implication. It's not like pigs or guinea pigs are known for their hearing. Animals only being understood by other animals is a time-honored trope.
