** Easy: He didn't have those wounds in his human form. The beast "died", and the human lived.

* How exactly is turning a giving a man an extra hundred pounds, a thick coat of fur, claws, teeth, and a tripled testoterone count supposed to make him become more compassionate? Not quite the prerequisites for an altruistic (and by that I mean not ripping the face off of anyone who comes within 20 feet of you) lifestyle. I'm suprised Belle hadn't just been raped and mauled to death!

** Well we do see Phillipe carrying him back to the castle, and most people fanwank that the Beast was still semi-concious and managed to get on the horse Aragorn style. But...look at the ending! Gaston meets his demise by letting go of the roof, but the Beast does the same thing! He's waving his arms around in the air when Belle stops him from falling by ''grabbing his shirt''. And then she pulls him onto the balcony! Sure it looks like the Beast is helping a little, but he's suffering from a stab wound, and after a cutaway to the sidekicks we see Belle lowering him onto the floor because he's too weak to move. So really, Belle probably just lifted the Beast onto the horse with her super-strength powers.

** It's a skill that many a bookworm has honed. Especially in a small town where there's likely to be the same mud puddle most of the time to be avoided. When one can walk half a mile to class and not remember anything of the trip for having one's nose in a book, it's understandable that a small village is no match to the dedicated reader. And as everyone around her says, Belle is [[{{BurnTheWitch}} weird]].

* So, Belle can become soo engrossed in a book that her body just naturally reacts to the hazards in the environment around her? She dodges mud holes, lifts shop signs to avoid rainwater... and it's not until the song is over that she even realizes anything happened...
* For that matter, how heavy is Belle that she outweighs three bags of grain on a cart?

* This is not really something toy can expect from Disney, but why wasn't the beast more ugly? He was like a giant teddybear. I long for the day when they make something very ugly and THEN enforce the point that it's the inside that counts. In this and the hunchback the designs made them look almost cute. It didn't really get the point across that even if ypu don't LOOK kind or cute you are still a valuable human being and you can be as kind as good as anyone else. I know I'm enforcing very strict codes here, but it still bugs me.

** I think perhaps she simply gave him a body to match his personality. He acted like a monster, and so became one. It also goes along with the observation that most of the transformations the servants went through were somehow thematically appropriate to their jobs; i.e. the maid becomes a feather duster, the tea lady becomes a teapot, etc.

** It's possible he wasn't even in the castle at the time "Be Our Guest" was going on, WordOfGod has stated that The Beast has taken to hunting animals for his food and the West Wing is littered with carcasses. It's possible he stepped out to get something to eat himself and only returned shortly before of even after Belle entered the West Wing.

** The filmakers themselves admit that the Beast is character that succeeds at what he was designed to do that he does it ''too'' well. So much time and effort was spent on giving him deep, complex character development and giving him a unique look to go along with it that they sort of forgot that he has to turn back into a guy at some point. The audience spends an hour and half getting involved with this character who they identify visually (due to the afformentioned character design, which is simply fantastic I might add) and build him up as an actual, living, person trapped in the form of a monster. It's not that the Beast is attractive at all (seriously, he has the face of a bison and a monkey smashed together), it's just that the Prince is far less stunning visually to look at by simply being human. It's not that he's actually unattractive, it's simply that he's ''less fun'' to look at than the Beast

* Also, why do people think that Belle is a LoveMartyr and that the Beast is sexist, cruel and abusive? If Belle had fallen for Gaston, who is a straight up CompleteMonster, I'd agree, but Beast actually ''does his best to be better for Belle's sake'' as he realizes he can't threaten, bitch and/or mistreat everyone to get his way done. Not to mention he falls for Belle and attempts to change because ''she's the first person who doesn't doesn't take his crap'', which forces him to think twice about WTF he's doing.

**** Taken from IMDb's trivia for this movie: Robby Benson's voice was altered by the growls of real panthers and lions so that it is virtually unrecognizable. This is why near the end when the Beast transforms into the prince his voice changes.

**** They just didn't care. As far as the townfolks were concerned, those two were oddjobs who didn't conform so even if they went missing, it would be a waste of effort to look for them. I doubt the whole town would have cared about Maurice or Belle had Gaston not decided to hatch his plan to force Belle into a marriage.

* Not so much something that bugs me as much as an observation, but does anyone else think the Beast totally knew about the "Be Our Guest" number and just didn't do anything about it? I mean, I know it's a big castle but...he was able to sense Belle and Maurice trespassing when they weren't even making much noise. He must have known there was a show-stopping production number happening downstairs, and perhaps even smelled the food with his ~*~acute animal senses~*~.

** I've always thought that Maurice spent some time trying to round up a proper militia (since he knew he didn't stand a chance against the Beast in a fight) and that he tried traveling to other towns and cities searching for someone who would believe him, or who would at least humor an old man for a few coins. Only after he failed with everyone within traveling distance, or once he ran out of money did he make a last ditch effort to rescue her himself, and by then he was desperate, broke, hungry, and worn out.

** To answer both the timeline wonkiness and how short they fell in love: Beast turns human. They marry. Who says how much time was between ''those'' two events? We only go by characters' looks and the time of year, and I don't think we see any characters who would have aged much in the less than 3-years range. They could have courted a year and a half, easy.

** It could also be that the king and queen had more than one child. It wasn't uncommon for royal family to have more than one castle (sort of like vacation homes that they could choose to stay at) and often, members of the family would go there by themselves. Maybe the prince was visiting there for a time when the whole Enchantress business unfolded. Also, if the king and queen ''did'' have more than one child, the prince wouldn't rule over anything unless whichever sibling inherited didn't have any children of their own.

*** Maybe the town got hit by a weather front? It's not uncommon for late fall to be a little warmer during the day than it is at night, and France can get particularly cold in the evenings (I've experienced it first-hand). Maybe it was passable warm during the day, but once the sun went down and the temperature dropped, it got cold enough to where it started snowing?
