At the end of episode five, he is down in the dumps, having been unable to sell a single product (and his girlfriend telling him they need to open up their relationship on top of that) when he suddenly receives a large order for his sweaters. Three minutes into the next episode, he finds the entire stash of clothes in the closet of the guys' shared apartment; it turns out that his friends ordered them out of pity, and Max was still unable to actually gain a single real customer. The storyline is then dropped for the rest of the season.
