While the two of them are trying to find a third team member, Ookurikara just so happens to be walking by. When Taikogane tries to get him to join, he refuses on the grounds tht he has no intention of getting along. [[GilliganCut We then cut to all three of them on the track]] with a rather depressed Ookurikara repeating that he has no intention of getting along.

In the English dub, he even lampshades how unnecessary he is.
